If the culture war was lost, Hillary would be president and the DemonRats would have both houses of Congress locked up.

Dreher writes for the New York Slimes as their token "conservative" (after David Brooks), right?
C.U.C.K.

He's criticizing Indiana Republicans for caving to Apple's threats. You don't like him doing that? Not many in the media have done that, even on the conservative side.

this article is defeatist Never-Trump drivel.

I don't know where the anti-Trump content is in this article. Can you point it out?

The Never-Trump part begins withe the word 'Even' at the beginning of the article and continues until the very last word of the article.

Otherwise it is an excellent article.

Another view of this site, Free Republic, is that it exists at all because of one man, Jim Robinson, who has persisted over the years with providing a place for the expression of a variety of opinions to be exchanged among like minded, conservative, posters. I doubt that there are many conservative sites or publications that, to this day, receive the number of visits-views as does FR. Many people post with the knowledge that this is a means of communicating and connecting with numbers of other citizens who are encouraged to fight on, or enabled to become knowledgeable about current affairs. Free Republic is a conservative barometer of public opinion that is not shown by the commie left media. It is not static and confined to years gone by. Most posters read a number of other sites so the news of the day is already spread around and no one site has a lock on any of it. I appreciate the absence of profanity and would discontinue participate if it became standard. Likewise with the other new gadgets which are unnecessary and distracting. Keep it simple Jim. And thank you for soldiering on with your posters.

Well, here's one phrase that strongly signals the ant-Trump bias: "The Trump presidency, though, is tearing Evangelicalism apart." There is no "tearing" of Evangelicanlism, the left and Never-Trumpers want this to be a perceived thing to try and divide us. But even if it were true, it wouldn't be Trump's fault.

It’s not a Never Trump article. Why do you bother with such an idiotic response?

I don’t see how Trump’s presidency is tearing Evangelicalism apart, but in any case he said nothing about it being Trump’s fault.

Dude, read through the lines and consider the source. The entire purpose of this crap is to dishearten conservatives and imply that Trump (merely by his Presidency) is somehow to blame. If you can’t see it, you are the only one.

Trump is hardly mentioned in the article and the one mention I quoted at the start is positive, not negative. I don’t see where he’s blaming Trump for anything. Why don’t YOU read through the lines?

I don’t determine what an article says by the source. That’s stupid. I have no idea what’s supposed to be so bad about Dreher anyway.

The success of Trump depends on whether his appointees such as Barr and Durham, along with allies like Giuliani, pull down the corrupt Deep State players, from mid level enemies like Strock to the big dogs like Obama and the Clintons, along with their financial supporters like Soros. Also, the FCC must break Big Tech’s censorship.

k If he succeeds, the whole decadent structure of the Federal goliath going back to the New Deal will crumble much as FDR demolished the power of the Northeastern WASP ascendancy, even though he was born into that class. That ascendancy basically ruled the U.S. from Appomattox to the 1929 stock market crash. People lost faith in that ruling elite as stocks tumbled, businesses failed, and unemployment skyrocketed. If Trump can achieve the collapse of the Deep State and the clout of the powers that be, he will be viewed as greater than Reagan and up with Washington, Lincoln, and FDR as a President who presided over a massive turnaround in our country.
