New 'Absolutely Shocking' Evidence Presented in the George Floyd Case

Attorneys for former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin are requesting the dismissal of murder and manslaughter charges against him for the death of George Floyd. They're using the police training manual as justification.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department training manual, officers are shown how to subdue violent or resisting suspects by placing their knee on the neck.

Analysts and attorneys at Court TV explain. It's worth a full watch:

"From coast-to-coast everyone, absolutely outraged, especially by that fact, the knee on the neck. Well, guess what folks, take a look at what you're looking at right here. That is from the police training manual," attorney and host Vinnie Politan said. "Where this all comes from is from a motion to dismiss. A motion to dismiss that was filed by Derek Chauvin's attorneys saying that the knee on the neck is part of his training as a Minneapolis police officer. And there we see it in the manual on the left and on the right is what we all have seen in the video of Officer Chauvin. So, is this a game-changer?"

"This one is absolutely shocking. I mean, this is what the whole story is about. This is what outraged millions and millions of people, this is what caused the protests. It was the knee on the neck...and now the defense is saying dismiss the charges because the knee on the neck is right there in the police training manual," he continued.

So why did Chauvin continue holding his knee on Floyd's neck after he became unresponsive?

It is the duration of time that the knee is on the neck that will cost the officer prison time.

This would explain why Chauvin didn’t hide from the camera or change what he was doing. He thought he was doing things by the book.

Just happened to be listening to Hannity the time this happened. Some wimpy dude was telling him how he would’ve knocked the cop off Floyd Rose if he saw it happening. LOL.

I recall reading about the manual that was posted here too, and, yes, it was a while ago.

“excited delirium”. The manual says keep the knee on the neck when they go quiet due to excited delirium.

I think I read that correctly.

Saw this dealt with at the outset. George exxentially killed himself through stupid moves.. But that doesn't matter, for he was a nothing, but accomplished the job of providing an excuse at the right time for clever enemies of our society to find an oppotunistic excuse for their criminal manipulation of blacks and dumber-down millennials into heady terroristic thrills.

Zeroes have a definite place in modern engineering and accounting.

I used to trust & believe judges would seek to be honest & lawful.
After all the FISA and General Flynn treachery I now know that is not so.
With that in mind Chauvin will be sacrificed to keep the shopping malls from burning, again.

does the training manual say keep pressure on the neck of a suspect on the ground with your knee even if she complains of unable to breathe, and not resisting, and with 2 other cops standing near the suspect on the ground?

If yes the manual needs updating.

The only thing I know is a conviction will not be a slam dunk. Knee on neck is approved procedure and foaming at the mouth was a sign of pulmonary edema which is caused by opioid overdose.

Be prepared and make sure you and your family are in a safe place on the day of the verdict.

The manual was purged but is still up, IIRC, on the San Freakshow police website.

But since he was already saying ‘I can’t breathe’ while still sitting in his car, and fought with the officers while they were trying to get him in the police car, which is why he ended up on the ground anyway, how much credence can you give his “I can’t breathe’ later?

“Be prepared and make sure you and your family are in a safe place on the day of the verdict.”

I agree, especially if he is acquitted. Same for Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha.

But in both cases, like the Election, I don’t think that the result matters - there will be even more rioting no matter what happens in all of these situations. People need to be prepared for that, in a variety of different ways.

An arm lock or come along are legal control moves but you don’t have the right to break their elbow or thumb in doing so.

He died of a drug overdose.... and would have died even if he was not arrested. Opioid killed Floyd.

The problem is the training manual is wrong/has the wrong picture. That is not a recovery position, it is a prone restraint position.

Chauvin will eventually win on appeal for qualified immunity regardless of any conviction at trial and he won’t take any plea deal in order to keep his appeal options.

The City of Minneapolis is going to pay a huge settlement as a result of their lousy and inaccurate training manual.

GF was infected with covid-19, which attacks lungs first. So breathing problem is not unusual.

Again if the cop was alone, one on one with a resisting suspect, I can’t blame the cop keeping knee down for several minutes.

But with 3 strong cops surrounding the suspect on ground, and one of the cops even said to let him breathe, I am in the camp the kneeling cop was not using common sense.

“it is a prone restraint position.”

When you get to this point (handcuffs on) four actions are required per the manual.

The manual is not inaccurate.

So why did Chauvin continue holding his knee on Floyd's neck after he became unresponsive?

That's the question.

There was talk early on about that particular 'hold' being a part of departmental policy, which is why he'll probably walk. I personally think he showed extreme indifference to the person under his power. I wouldn't want to ever see him act as a cop again.

Except that he successfully fought off all 3 cops who were trying to get him in the car. That’s the reason they put him on the ground in the first place.

And the coroner’s report pretty much said he would have died from a fentanyl overdose whether they held him down for 1 minute or 10 minutes.
