Well, why not do away with education? Since achieving distinctions of any kind demonstrates character...Liberals are opposed to that. They think we are all one mass of undifferentiated ‘being’, so no distinctions exist... not even the ones we strive to achieve?

Valedictorians make good workers but not good leaders. They got there by following the program. It’s hard to look up to someone who will on the day after graduation be just like everyone else. These people stick around for that year or 2 when they can graduate early. Our HS counselors were against it for their own selfish reasons.
K-12 should be blown up. The valedictorian is a part of the problem.

In most areas of life it STILL is a competition. Liberals don’t control the entire world of work, so there are places to work where merit actually counts and achievement is rewarded.
Where liberals are in control, success is taxed and lazy failure is rewarded.
