Sure they are. They are speaking up and the governor is retaliating for their doing so by vetoing money appropriated by the legislature. Clear violation of their 1st Amendment rights.
The governor is simply taking a stand and sending a message to the Rays and other organizations that if they choose to enter the political culture war as advocates and active participants of one side they are free to do so but it has to be on their own dime.
They cannot expect taxpayers to support their advocacy financially, especially the taxpayers who disagree with them and against whom they are taking an active position.
Looking at a different aspect of this issue, organizations like NASCAR, Netflix, Disney and professional sports are businesses selling entertainment. How smart is it for any business to engage in political
activities in ways that alienate a large number of their potential customers?
Remember what happened to the Dixie Chicks when they did so at the height of their popularity?
Which is saying that they have First Amendment rights if DeSantis says they do. That won't hold up in court.

Not very. But if they do they are free to do so without the government taking steps to stop them.
Just because a legislature puts an expenditure in a bill doesn't make it a law or a binding precedent.
And it certainly doesn't guarantee that it is well thought out, appropriate, legal, legitimate or constitutional.
Don't forget that the governor does have the constitutional authority to veto.
And the legislature has the constitutional right to over-ride a specific veto if they can muster the support.
Furthermore, if one of the parties believes a veto is unconstitutional they can appeal it to the courts on that basis.

Nah you’re wrong. DeSantis was fully within his legal and ethical rights and this veto will be upheld in court.

No it does not. The governor has to sign it or he can veto it.
Don't forget that the governor does have the constitutional authority to veto.
And his stated reason for vetoing it is the issue at hand. Had he just vetoed it or said he was vetoing it because he disagreed with public funds subsidizing sports facilities then we wouldn't be having this conversation. Instead, he has said that he will veto it solely because the Rays exercised their constitutional right to comment on a current issue which annoyed DeSantis. He he violating their First Amendment rights by retaliating. Courts are not going to like that.

It certainly could be, but my expectation is that the money will quietly be put back in the budget just as soon as the mid-terms are over, DeSantis is reelected, and he no longer needs the campaign headline.

Feel free to argue your case to the Governor or the court. As of now, the Rays lose for their short sighted gun confiscation advocacy and I am thrilled about it. Yay DeSantis!

For the same reason why nobody taxes the NRA. Legally it's a non-profit organization.
