Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) said NBC’s “Meet the Press” that it bothered her former President Donald Trump called those convicted and jailed for their actions on January 6, 2021 “hostages.”
Anchor Kristen Welker said, “I want to stay on this topic of hostages. Donald Trump has gotten a lot of attention for labeling those who are serving time for the January 6 attack as hostages. You obviously know the difference between those convicted of crimes related to January 6 and hostages. Does it bother you that Donald Trump is using that language?”

When she was elected, I thought she would be a good VP choice. Thank god it will never happen.
I would say that an American citizen, who entered the capitol (the peoples’s house) many directed by police officers, did no damage, assaulted no one and susequently arrested, thrown in jail, without due process, can well be considered a political prisoner or a hostage by an administration who wants to stop opposition.
We need our own party to make “Republicans” like her irrelevant. A new separate MAGA party will deny trash like her any leverage, which by the way they consistently use against us.
