Most of the justices are not real conservatives. What they want is more communists on the court. The commies need to stop trying to tamper with the court.

Appellate judgeships are where lawyers go to retire. Never met an appellate judge who died from too much vacation or too many legal clerks to do their work for them. Sotomayer is just plain dumb and way over her little progressive head in anything that does not involve shaking a fryer at McDonalds.

Hmmmm...

Why on Earth would they be concerned about a 69-year-old dying ‘suddenly’???

Maybe the fascist DNC will hurry her along like they did Seth Rich and Lt. Quarles Harris Jr. ?

Alter history with a bullet that costs .95 cents. Its much easier than all this caterwauling?( sarc.)

I love it when these liberal fascists turn on their own.

First that needs to go under Trump is Amy or Roberts. There is nothing worse than a so-called conservative who abandons the constitution at every single absolutely crucial moment.

'I live in frustration,' she admitted, 'and every loss truly traumatizes me in my stomach and in my heart.

That she describes opinions not fitting her ideology as losses is very telling about who she really is. She clearly doesn't care about protecting the Constitution, which is truly the defining role of the Supreme Court. She's just another 'payback' racist leftist who wants power to force her will on an America she doesn't really like.

Given that Stalin couldn't be worse than this lying puta, hope she goes, but even more, hope she goes under TrumpII.

"It will be very hard to find a Thomas/Alito rock ribbed strict constructionists replacement. They don’t seem to make them like that any more. Being a strict constitutional constructionist should be the minimum requirement for the position."

Hello, McFly? Cruz. But he will be too busy as AG under TrumpII.

Then there is Katsas (clerked for Thomas, shares Thomas's "I dissent!" brilliance), runner-up to Amy Coney Barrett. Katsas should be TrumpII's next pick.

On down the list, Walker (who ripped up plandemic restrictions on worship in On Fire Christian Center Inc v (former Mayor) Greg Fischer, et al, but was recently on the very wrong side of the J6 prosecutorial overreach Fischer (no relation to the former Mayor) v US); then there are a bunch of Shrubber's who are not rock-ribbed but reliable: Willett, Hardiman; and then there's Thapar, who might be brown enough to cancel any media storm about TrumpII not replacing Thomas with an African-American.

It will be very hard to find a black Thomas replacement. No, make that impossible.

You can find out a lot of interesting things by examining the retirement dates of Article III federal judges.

Also, the NON-retirement dates.

Wow…we got Roe overturned, concealed carry is constitutional, and the EPA case among others.

And some people continue to whine.

It is like having an open bar with top-shelf beer, wine, vodka, whiskey, and scotch, but complaining loudly that there is no schnapps.

Let us establish an empirical baseline. There is a metric called Martin-Quinn scores, that measures a Justice’s ideological leaning. Here is a time-series of the MQ scores with the median - note what could have happened if Garland replaced Scalia.

Here is the plot of the MQ Scores from last term:

True, we don’t have nine justices like Alito and Thomas. True, we have two centrists who pretend to be conservatives, and a milquetoast and “I just wanna get along” Chief Justice.

Of COURSE it can be better. That said, objectively, in 2024, SCOTUS is waaaaay better than in 2016. For the complainers, remember, you can’t always get what you want. Fight with what you got.

Indeed, getting Roe overturned has turned the left into nutters. They are also saddled with a terrible Presidential candidate.

If you REALLY were interested in winning, you would turn SCOTUS into a weapon of discouragement: tell every leftist who starts talking about fundamentally transforming America “how about Roe and gun rights.? You folks are in for a LOOOOONG time in the loser column, even if Bidet is “elected” again. Hahahahaha!!”

Told you that article earlier this week, or last about Sotomayor complaining about the rigors of the job was a balloon...

She is 69 years old and a type 1 Diabetic. Her surviving 4 more years is a gamble.

I fully expect her to retire, this year, as there is no way the GOP can stop an appointment, so they will use her replacement as a rallying cry to try to muster some enthusiasm out of their troops for the fall election.

We shall see.

Cruz lied about being Constitutionally eligible to serve as President, so how can he be qualified to judge the Constitutionality of other mattaers?

Thomas and Alito are the only two conservatives.

The rest of the court went along with Trump initiating, in effect, martial law that compromised the majority of the Bill of Rights. Roe was done in a time and way to create a voter backlash—and it has worked.

Violating the Nuremberg Code became the de facto law of the land, and the cowardly, compromised SC sat on their collective hands.

A crumb here or there doesn’t offset that. Upwards of a million Americans have been done in by the jabs at this point, with more to come.

There is some incredible medical technology today especially if you have access to unlimited top of the line medical care and your condition is monitored in real time.

They can keep patching her up for five years if necessary.

Thomas and Alito are the only two conservatives.

True! And when they are gone, Heaven help us because the Supreme Court will not. For us it will be Katie Bar the Door!
