Navy Demoted Ronny Jackson After Probe Into White House Behavior
Washington Post ^ | March 7, 2024 | Dan Diamond and Alex Horton

Trump’s former physician and GOP ally is now a retired captain, not an admiral

Ronny Jackson, the former White House physician turned GOP congressman, regularly touts his military bona fides.

“As a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral with nearly three decades of military service I understand the commitment and sacrifices made by servicemen and servicewomen to serve our country,” the two-term representative from Texas says on his congressional website in a message posted to a page listing his work on veterans issues.

But Jackson is no longer a retired admiral. The Navy demoted him in July 2022 following a damaging Pentagon inspector general’s report that substantiated allegations about his inappropriate behavior as a White House physician, a previously unreported decision confirmed by a current defense official and a former U.S. official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive personnel move.

Jackson is now a retired Navy captain, those people said — a demotion that carries a significant financial burden in addition to the social stigma of stripped rank in military circles.

Despite the demotion, Jackson has continued to refer to himself as a retired rear admiral, including in statements released since the Navy reclassified him as a retired captain. Former president Donald Trump and other Republicans have also continued to publicly describe Jackson using his former rank; it’s unclear if they were aware of his demotion.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/07/politics/navy-demoted-ronny-jackson/index.html

Then-President Trump nominated Jackson to run the Department of Veterans Affairs, after taking a personal liking to his doctor, who declared Trump in “excellent health” after his 2018 physical exam, despite evidence of heart disease and borderline obesity.

his crime?

Read this the other day. Sounds like he was reckless and unprofessional. Not surprised.

He was an Admiral, and he is now retired.
What’s the issue.
He’s not claiming something that didn’t happen.

"Among the most damaging allegations: Jackson was drunk and “wrecked a government vehicle” while at a going-away party. It also says that “on at least one occasion” Jackson “could not be reached when needed because he was passed out drunk in his hotel room.”

The documents did not include further significant details, the document states, in part to “protect the identities of those involved.” "

His sole crime was declaring President Trump as having fine health when the idiots in DC were pushing the Trump dementia theory.

Did the Post make note of the fact that a navy captain is a much higher rank than an army captain?

Does the demotion affect his pension?

Hats off to the USA Political Left.

You mess with them - they step on your face!

The USA Political Right?

LOL - we take special instruction every year in how to apologize with the maximum possible humiliation!

I don’t see a problem with that. Because that’s what he retired as, a rear admiral. Anyway, raise your hand if you think Jackson still would have been demoted had he not been critical of Democrats.

Make BRANDON a retired janitor with no pension. Put his picture on dumpsters across the nation in reverence to the Pedo-In-Chief.

Of course no one in DC ever drank or did COCAINE in the WH...or needed a slush fund paid by the taxpayers to defend sexual crimes.

Just another case of not being a leftist.

Re: "$15k pension reduction"

Thanks Nick.

I stopped reading after the first 6 paragraphs.

He is now a USA Congressman.

In the recent past, federal employees were not allowed to "Double Dip."

They were not allowed to draw their federal pension if they were also employed with a new federal job - like, Congressman.

I do not know if that is still the law.

I trust nothing out of this DOD led by an affirmative action SecDef and corrupt former Chairman (Milley) and current woke Chairman, Brown. This Administration is trying it’s best to destroy anyone who supported/supports Trump. We’ve seen how the Left can make up documents, investigations etc so I put nothing past them.

Hmmm. And SecDef Austin was missing for how many days and unable to be reached? Perhaps he should be busted too.

If Democrats in the 1960s had embarked on a multi-decade master plan to remove and replace capable Republican office-holders and officials with morally questionable, semi-competent characters who knew how to say things the base wanted to hear but never took any real action to roll back the collectivist agenda, the final fruition of that plan would look a lot like the political landscape today.

Just sayin'...
