Congratulations to her! I love seeing ACTUAL musicians win, rather than lip synching strumpets with white snakes drapped around their themselves while singing about Diet Pepsi.
By the way----who made an A$$ wout of themselves with the "Anti-War" speeches? I don't have time to go through the 1,796 posts on the LIVE THREAD.

Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit said a short statement, Sheryl Crow with her "No War" guitar strap, I forget who else.

I could not stand to watch the grammies, and I am glad to know that some one could.

None of these sexualized sluts know what "sexy" really is. Sexy is Norah Jones' sensual and sultry cover of J.D. Loudermilk's "Turn Me On." Sexy is Norah Jones' naturally beautiful multiethnic and curvaceous physical appearance. Can you tell I'm crazy about this gal and her music? ;-)

(Is this a great country...........Or what?)

agree in full. Funny that her song melody was copied from Beatle's "Yesterday and bridge was from 70's - still it's nice to see youth may be able to be influenced by decent music instead od packaged groups or rapcrap. Her piano style is gentle and reminiscent of artistic voice style.

Norah is a jazz pianist. Which may explain why Blue Note, the vaunted Jazz label, released her album, though many purists consider it pop.

I agree, her voice is just great. Purists, just by their name, wouldn't be impressed by Norah's music, because she brings in other musical styles into her music. But that's part of what makes her album so good.

Great news! Big Norah fan here too- bought her album back in October thinking I had stumbled upon a jewel nobody else would ever find out about. Boy was I wrong! A great listen any time.
Also really happy to see she got more press than Eminem did, which is always a good thing.

Welcome to Free Republic! Good to know that there are other Norah Jones fans out there amongst young conservatives. :-)

That makes both of us on the cutting edge?
Saw her picture in some magaizine (which one, I can't recall). The photo (of her barefoot and in a white dress) caught my eye. The review was glowing, so I either went to a listening station or DLed one of her MP3s.
Let's say I often used her as background music with my former girlfriend. <G>

(Drools). It should catch the eye of ANY real man out there. She's HOT!

I wasn't going to say that, but since you already did, I'm going to concur. I haven't dated in a while, so I have yet to try it out though. :-P

She's a relatively new music artist. She plays the piano and sings. Her album "Come Away With Me," has been a "sleeper" hit, selling several million copies without much top 40 exposure. Check her out on Amazon.

You mean somebody who can actually carry a note, and play an instrument, won a Grammy. I guess the effects of the "first rap President" are fading.

Her father had almost nothing to do with her upbringing, but it would seem the genetics shine through.
