Its good to see it go to an artist who sneaked up on the industry instead of one of the pre-packaged saran wrap artists. More proof that the music industry has to get slapped in the face to know whats going on.

I would beg to differ with you. Norah is a jazz pianist. She is an accomplished artist and not a one hit wonder even though she is only 23. She'll be around for awhile.

I don't understand why they put her in the pop category. She's a jazz musician.

Another thing that her success is a testament to is that people KNOW when they hear good music. Her single "Don't Know Why" didn't get much notice by the Top 40 stations. I know some of the adult contemporary stations have played it, but they don't get as much hype as the "pop" stations. Norah also has another thing to her advantage over Christopher Cross and Hootie: she's an attractive FEMALE. Since her music is classy, good, and reaches out to a wide audience, she's bound to be around for a while. Let's help her out too.

Its nice to have music in your genes. I've tried learn music, but never been able to play it well. No one in my family has been successful at tunes.

Be thankful you never became a musician. It only leads to insanity. Trust me.

Half-white (mother), half Indian (father is Ravi Shankar, the famous sitar player)
