Did you know that there is ANOTHER "Bang List"?
Chatty bang_list gun-related posts properly made to the "General Interest" area (as opposed to News/Activism area) are NOT visible when you view the regular bang_list.
If you want to see posts regarding "What gun to buy?", vanities on gun politics, and silly gun-related stories, bookmark this spot:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/finduser?user=%2Abang_list If you want to post to this chat list, click "General Interest" (aka "chat") in the upper right under "my forums", then post, then reply to "*bang_list".

I was working on my gun control this weekend. ;^)
Had a poster on the "Hannity Interviews Arnold" thread wondering if pro-Brady means a Californian is in favor of a shorter waiting period. ;^)

Let's see, so this report is based completely on rumor, or second-hand report at best?
BTW, Reagan signed the Brady Bill, so I guess that makes him a RINO.

So, is Harold Dean better than Schwarzenegger on these issues?

Nope, just makes him a party to treason

The so called "gun-show loophole" doesn't exist in CA. All transfers between private citizens (other than between husband and wife) must be done through a gun dealer with paperwork going to the state. The Brady bill is duplicated in state law too. Those horses have already left the barn, making Arnolds position academic.

Good point Hugin. Some also seem to think being pro-Brady Bill has meaning in California.
But the Brady Bill calls for a 5 day waiting period.
California's had a 15 day waiting period since 1976.

I could be wrong, but I think the Brady Bill was enacted after Reagan left office. I think he supported it only as goodwill gesture to to Brady, who was shot with him.
I don't support the Brady Bill, just trying to remember the facts, sometimes I suffer from CRS(Can't Remember$hit)LOL
To: Beelzebubba
That does it! I'm voting for McClintock.

The
Brady Bill was enacted in 1994, a full 6 years after RR left office.

BTW, Reagan signed the Brady Bill No he didn't. The Brady bill didn't become law until the 1990s.

The Brady bill is duplicated in state law too. Those horses have already left the barn, making Arnolds position academic. No, it demonstrates that Liberal Arnold has as much disdane for the Second Ammendment as other Liberals around the country.
Tom McClintock is opposed to Brady and other restrictions on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
With new gun grabbing laws being proposed in the California legislature on a daily basis, the distinction is an important one.

Let's see, so this report is based completely on rumor, or second-hand report at best? No, AS was on Hannity's radio show, which MSNBC showed. AS said this himself. The words came outa his mouth, anyway.

California's had a 15 day waiting period since 1976.Are you sure that's not local ordinance somewhere? Everything I've purchsed in the SF Bay Area in the last 3 years has been a 10 day waiting period (which is still 10 days too long).
