Lots of Catholic protesting the pope and the direction the church is going in.
Oh wait a minute........
Recently, a letter authored by 4 prominent Catholics asking the DOJ to investigate what they perceive a plot by Podesta, the Clintons and others to replace the previous pope with this current commie pope who would be in sympathy with the New World Order movement
Kind of blows the narrative about Catholics not having any use for the mind and blindly accepting whatever drivel is thrown their way. It was a pretty good thread, but there goes the neighborhood. It should have been caucused.
But we've been told you can't think for yourself. You can't have your own personal understanding of Scripture. Yet we see catholics doing that very thing and are being applauded for it.
I know...amazing isn't it.
That presents an interesting situation in regards to jurisdiction. While the DOJ has no jurisdiction over another sovereign nation, the influence on US churches coming from over there is huge, especially if the change was due to corruption. Which is becoming more apparent with each Marxist statement he makes.
It funny to me how she thinks snakiness will win hearts and minds. Crazy
This. Like the Dominican Sisters from Nashville
I don't need "my own personal understanding of Scripture" to know that what is being taught today is contrary to what was taught only a couple of years ago.
I also don't need "my own personal understanding of Scripture" to know what is, and isn't, in keeping with the virtue of charity. Many things I hear coming from Rome these days aren't.
We can’t have our own personal understanding of Scripture that goes against the official interpretation of the Church.
We also can’t go against the official teachings of the Pope.
The four words preceding Pope in the above sentence are very important.
This Pope has some problems in exercising his office.
There are methods for giving teachings weight. The Hereneutic of Continuity is powerful.
Wish I could convince my mom to stop donating. My mom turns 80 this year and we want to give her a party. In looking for a party venue, we have not considered her church. There is no way even one cent goes there until this commie is replaced.
Even scarier is that leftists are returning to the RCC because they agree with his views.

You mean like St. Catherine of Sienna did?
Yet we see on these threads catholics who say they're V2 or pre=V2 only catholics....the mass must only be in Latin and no other language, etc.
For a group who claim ya'll don't change...ya'll sure change.
Is this a Catholics only thread?
I was warned not to post on Catholic only threads because I am a former Catholic and apparently that makes me an apostate or a heretic or something.
Wow...I didn't know catholics had such flexibility in terms of tithing.
Post to your heart’s content.... :-)
Thanks for your thoughtfulness. It’s marshmellow’s thread, and as he didn’t caucus it, what he says goes. After post 23, sheleighleigh law is what may be expected here—which is sometimes a fun way to spend a Saturday night.
You are correct.
The bottom line=believing Jesus dying on the cross for us sinners and forgiveness of sins. That is all. Something where Catholics and Evangelicals can agree. Where we are unified. What leads to our eternal home.
All the rest leads to debate when discussing Scripture v Traditions. We need to focus where we do agree. Now is not the time for us to be battling each other.
How is one to know if a thread is Catholics only?
