It was the first time Trump has used the presidential power...Sholom Rubashkin, who ran...the country's largest kosher meat-processing company...Rubashkin's longtime attorney, Guy Cook, praised the decision, saying his client "has finally received justice." "The sentence previously imposed was unfair, unjust and essential a life sentence," he said via email. "President Trump has done what is right and just. The unrelenting efforts on Rubashkin's behalf have finally paid off."

“Trump’s decision to commute Rubashkin’s sentence “makes no sense” given Trump’s repeated promises to get tougher on illegal immigration.”

Except that he wasn’t convicted of any crimes associated with illegal immigration.

He served his sentence....done deal...time enough.

The president’s decision to review Rubashkin’s sentence was driven by concerns raised by a bipartisan group of more than 100 former high-ranking law enforcement... and Justice Department officials,.... including multiple former attorneys general,... as well as prosecutors,... judges,... and legal scholars.

Well, that took long enough.

Really?

Are there any other employers of illegal aliens who engage in loan fraud that you'd like to have released?

President Trump has his hands full.

It will take more than eight years to undo all the evil of the last 50 years.

But President Trump is off to a good start.

This is NOT going to help Trump’s reputation as a “White Supremacist Nazi” among the left and media.

His prosecution came after federal authorities raided the
plant and arrested 389 illegal immigrants in 2008.

***********

Why did they over look his use of ‘illegals’ and just center on his
‘fake invoices’ making his business look more profitable than it was?

"This is NOT going to help Trump’s reputation as a “White Supremacist Nazi” among the left and media."

That's a very good point!

Vegetarians have been pushing hard from behind the scenes against kosher meat plants, by the way. Help is needed to start more of them.

Hiring illegals was GOOD is 2009.

Why are you overlooking the use of illegals in all of the other meat processing plants?

But former prosecutor Bob Teig, who retired in 2011 after serving as a prosecutor and spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa, said Trump's decision to commute Rubashkin's sentence "makes no sense" given Trump's repeated promises to get tougher on illegal immigration.

Good try, I see people pull this all the time glad somebody else is watching out, though you missed it in this one.
