The bumpstock ban was foot in the door.. the door is off, they just haven’t made it official.
If President Trump goes down this road and laws are passed that erode our 2nd Amendment rights then he will lose my support. This is a betrayal of his base of patriots and is incredibly stupid.

Whenever the White House says they’re going to come up with a plan in a month or two we can pretty much understand that nothing is going to happen. It’s the President’s way of kicking the can down the road and hoping it goes away. Worked pretty well so far.
ANY "Gun Safety" legislation is a ruse for undermining the 2nd Amendment.

You make a good point considering Trump’s EO emboldened them to pass anti-gun laws. But bump stocks were junk anyway. I think this is different from the standpoint that Once they start red flag laws, each shooting the list of people who are not allowed to possess firearms will grow. After each shooting, Democrats will run to to the legislature with a list of 10 different groups of people who shouldn’t possess firearms, and the Republicans will give them 7 calling at compromise.
That works for me...
