Poor communication and lack of cooperation from Iran will mainly hurt their own people.

It was great to hear today of the release of Gillian Gibbons from Sudan. I am sure many have been praying for her.

The BBC points out the status of the Sudanese government has sunk to a laughable level.

Perhaps if we continue to pray, the Sudanese government might approach the level of being humane and sensible.

Through prayer of those at home and the resolve of our troops and allies progress is being made in Iraq. However, looks like success in Iraq is not worthy to be reported by much of the media.

Although the headline indicates that the Iraqi deaths have dropped, the article also states that deaths of US troops have declined.

That, of course, could change anytime. Those that pray, keep praying. Maranatha.

Sure enough during worldwide focus on the summit at Annapolis this past week something else was going on that will most likely inhibit any progress toward peace and security for Israel and others.

It appears that the Annapolis summit has been one sided in that Israel, or its leaders I should say, have agreed to a number of concessions that will adversely affect that nation's security. Instead of a road to peace, it seems to me that the summit and upcoming negotiations are a sure route to failure and an increase in violence.

The Lord Jesus Christ warned that perilous times shall come in the future. For those that pray, it would be good for us to pray for those in government who watch over us.

I tend to agree with your comment —This country is moving closer to falling over the precipice of extinction if the 2nd goes the end will come sooner than most think.<<<

Some might think me as wacky, but this is on reason my church is not 501 c 3.

If you read the article, it will be seen that lighting at night is one of the suspects as the actual cause, but scientists tend to say "shift work." Lack of sleep is another suspected cause.

Either way, I can just envision OSHA eventually getting into this one and have to wonder what businesses will have to face in the future as the government comes to the rescue.

I once worked at a crabmeat processing plant when some state inspectors (I forget from what department) spent the day with us. One thing they did was to count the number of flies present at a given time. How that was done, I do not know. I was too busy getting the actual job done which included making sure the whole process was done in a sanitary manner.

Those men were not from OSHA. However, my boss would cringe if OSHA were mentioned.

Stuff like this will cause persecutions of Christians around the world. For those that might not think this occurs, see www.persecution.com.

Each of us should earnestly thank God we live in the United States.

For those of us who do pray, we should seek the face of God to preserve the freedoms set forth in our Constitution. We are truly blessed. Consider this story I came across at RightBias of two Muslim women, Wafa Sultan and Nonie Darwish who found freedom in our Nation.

Recently I had come across an article that indicated both Obama and Clinton had plans for government mandated healthcare. To me, this is government intrusion into my life and poses a challenge to some of my religious beliefs.

In addition to that concern, I came across this article that reminded me that if people like this have their way, it will be a notorious complicated mess.

Citizens should decide, if they want healthcare or not.

  • Have You Bashed a White Male Today?

I guess beauty (or the lack thereof) is in the eye of the beholder. To me, saying White - Black is too contentious. Too general.

Was recently at meeting with some African-Americans on a project they were doing. The historian for the project is Caucasian. During his presentation, he apologized for being a White man working on the project. The Af-Ams told him not to apologize. They continued to say, along with other remarks, they use 3 terms - “European”, “Caucasian”, and “White”. Evidently they have no problem with saying Caucasian.

I came across this article last night at another forum. It really meant something to me since I, yes I confess, am a male Caucasian.

After living over 5 decades, I have seen many changes. Some are good, but the tendency in some segments of society to lower the image of the male Caucasian is not good. It is not fair. And, as the article indicates, gives no good lesson to the people around us or the upcoming generations.

Along with the beer remark at the end, the one thing I personally would change in the article is to use the the word "Caucasian" in the article. The reason being, it is my opinion that usage of stark, contrasting words sets the stage in too many minds for a realm of conflict. White - black sounds like a contest. We are all people with definite roots.

See what she has to say.

  • Clinton, Obama Spar As Race Heats Up

I personally find the the position of both Clinton and Obama a bit frightening.

Clinton: "'The difference is my health care plan covers every American and Senator Obama's plan will not' Obama focused on Clinton's proposal to require that people buy coverage."

Obama: "The reason Americans don't have health insurance isn't because they don't want it, it's because they can't afford it, which is why my plan doesn't have a mandate and goes further in cutting costs than any other proposal offered in this race," Obama said.

Obama is wrong because there are a few people like myself who might not want health insurance for religious reasons. I am not Amish, but have both of these people forgotten that there Amish in our country.

I opt not to have it, and I sure don't want it forced upon me.
