That is what I finally figured out - with a lot of help. IF it is real, the birth certificate was issued during the divorce in 1964 - after Kenya became independent, i.e. The Republic of Kenya.

Kenya had different districts which acted in an autonomous manner apparently until the “unification” for certain govt. divisions. The district that Mombasa was in, could have a different type of document.

It was clearly conjecture. I was responding to someone who said something like “only parents and family members keep documents so long”. I was merely pointing out that it is quite common for law firms to keep files for a long time.

If you are referring to the “race” listed as African on the alleged Hawaiian COLB document I agree. It’s always bothered me too. African isn’t a race and its use is nonsense. The accepted term back then was Negro. John Kerry’s wife is African.

You look to Federal law when determining matters of immigration. YOu need something that states that they will look back to state law on this matter.
They have an out of wedlock provision in the federal law. Is there a federal law that states the same...or that they will look back to State law for this particular matter.
What you really need is a case under the same circumstances to see for sure how INS would rule.
As I said, I’m not going to be drawn into an argument about what the Founding Fathers meant or didn’t mean. I only know what the US Supreme Court decided. They, and I disagree with you and the “Law of Nations.”

Right, I wasn’t making a point on HER citizenship, but just how my thought processes had brought me to another section of the constitution. But as other Freepers have pointed out, that amendment was reversed. Ah well, back to the drawing board. If anything, I ought to make a dang 100 in my constitutional law class this fall.
