Once cowed at the thought of provoking 2nd Amendment supporters, leftists will soon attempt to ban “assault weapons” (and much more) as legislation offered by Diane Feinstein makes its way to the Senate floor. It seems that DC liberals have finally become convinced that American gun owners are too cowardly, too lazy or too dependent upon the financial "generosity" of Big Brother to fight for their 2nd Amendment rights.
During the past 4 years, the gun banning left have watched as American buyers broke sales records in the purchase of semi-automatic rifles. Opting for these and other powerful, efficient weapons it is estimated that some 100 million private citizens are now in possession of over 300 million firearms. And these numbers continue to grow with each passing month.

Everybody knows police officers, sheriff deputies, state troopers....and most people, myself included, know where many of these cops live. And nearly every home in these parts has multiple firearms.
If I were a really smart Sheriff when the order came to confiscate guns, instead of taking the guns they would go door to door deputizing EVERYONE WITH A GUN!
It's all tactical thinking and it all applies.
You, as few do, understand. There won’t be confiscations per se. The goal is to cut the supply chain.
Very few can make their own guns or ammo. Most who think they can are doing little more than assembling a pre-manufactured jigsaw puzzle. Almost nobody can make barrels, primers, or shells (a few can, but orders of magnitude away from current and opponent’s levels). Most manufacturers of those can be shut down with ease, or importation prohibited. Just takes an Executive Order (if illegal, revocation gets tied up in courts forever) and those few sources die off.
Once the supply chain is broken, then attrition ensues. Ammo, while in vast quantities out there, is a consumable and gets used up or hoarded into oblivion. Guns are durable but still break. The market, black or not, evaporates from hoarding and attrition and bureaucracy.
They learned from Waco and Ruby Ridge: don’t go there. Manifesting someone’s personal expectation of Armageddon does not turn out well. The law abiding, however, abide by law.
The chances of Feinstein’s gun bill getting to the floor of the Senate for a vote is zero.
Yes all the keyboard commandos don’t get it. What wins battles? Not frontal attacks, flanking or waiting out your opponent. The left has all the time they need. 25 years from now AR15s will be a politically incorrect collectors item on folks walls.

One thing about militia and some tactics taught, movement, etc. I never understood practical unless very rural situations. But then there are drones, FLIR from surveillance planes, etc. Too much surveillance in open areas. I would in no way want to be dressed in camo or with tactical gear or stick out in anyway in a guerrilla war battlefield urban/suburban. Be the “grey man”. My rifles in transit for example aren’t all in gun cases, but other more inventive displays.
People talking long arms but really one needs a batch of vehicles, lots of different clothing for disguise/changing and a blade would do the job.
Thy don't care. They know they'e more likely to survive the turmoil (wealth and positions of power have their advantages. Further, may (like Obama) are utter ideologues, and see the loss of 30-50 million souls as an acceptable price to pay to bring about the changes they want.
Further, they will have NO hesitation to use overwhelming force against Americans, despite their urgings of "proportional force" abroad. Their voters won't see any problem with it, either. They'll smugly retort that the gun-lovers should love the massive weaponry being used against them. "Live by the gun", etc etc.
If it gets started, the cruelty and evil that will be unleashed on both sides will compare equally with NanKing's Rape, Cambodia's Killing Fields, and Africa's constant tribal butchery. There will be no rules, no relief, and no mercy... and the rest of the world will wait for their chance to pick up some gains at our expense if they can. (Alaska goes to Russia, Hawaii becomes Chinese, the Southwest becomes Aztlan?)
The evil that will befall us if we capitulate is far worse.

You're forgetting their Republican allies and enablers.
I quite agree; the chance for you to live through a disarmed genocide (assuming you're one of the disarmed) is much, much less than that of surviving armed battle.

If the attempt is made at coordinated confiscations, news of it will spread like wild fire. Police will not do it if ordered to do so, nor will the military.
Some may initially, but reality will be more than they bargained for.

But what will convince them that enough is enough? We were alreadt dealt a VERY serious blow when john roberts of the supreme court REFUSED to do his sworn duty to protect this nation agaisnt a rogue government who has violated our constitutional rights- and he let it be known that any future requests for the supreme court to protect us agaisnt a rogue governemnt will NOT be met by the court- That alone should have been enough to signal to those folks that we are in serious trouble as a nation when our last line of defense agaisnt a rogue government REFUSES to do what they were initially formed to do-
