I am asking all FReepers for their help. Due to health issues I have foolishly allowed myself to fall behind on current events (as some of my recent posts may have indicated).
I am not really all that tech- or internet-savvy. I have seen many web-sites listed as sources for the many threads here. Are there any other sites where information about all things politics and current affairs is available?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you leave this site, we will know, we will know...
Go to powerline.com. On the right sidebar they list “Our Favorites”
Bottom of drudgereport.com lists MANY sites, too.
That’ll get you started
Try: http://newsbusters.org/ ; http://www.breitbart.com/ ; http://www.Drudgereport.com/ for starters. The first two you can comment on articles.
I don’t know of any other GOOD sites to keep abreast of a variety of news items (especially with commentary that takes specific issue with articles from left leaning sources that omit details, etc.).
FR (unlike most of the internet these days) does not push “most popular”/”most viewed”/”most active” threads to the top of the page. You can view latest articles or latest posts (which may give some indication to busy threads but not necessarily).
The sidebar articles (breaking, front page, extended, editorial) are self-identified by posters (and sometimes the admin may overrule that topic/status category).
You can go look at Weekly Standard or American Thinker or Cybercast News Service or some other sites if you are looking for a single source giving coverage (news or editorial) to current news items with a conservative perspective. They are among the sites posted to FR. Doesn’t mean they are the best or always right.
If you let Yahoo/Google serve up the “top” news items, you will be getting a forced perspective of what is and is not important in the world this week. ABC, CNN, et al aren’t any better.
Ann Coulter’s website has a small but informative list of news, groups, and columnists links...

Probably ought to focus on getting better. Reading the news too frequently, especially with all the leftist spin and lies, is likely not to do wonders for your health improvement.
Rodg will keep you up to date on politics, in a humorous and sarcastic manner.
I read him every day:

you’re probably right, but I am a very stubborn sort, and libs by their nature make me angry; that anger will motivate me to get better.
I know it’s convoluted logic, but it works for me.
I want to thank you for concern.
Merry Christmas!
Well, if it works for you... :-P
Merry Christmas to you, too. ;-D
While you’re shopping for new news, be careful not to allow too many cookie links to become embedded. Most computers allow the user to block pop up ads and most (not all) unwanted cookies.
Don’t feel pressured to sign up for updates you may not need or really want. I hate getting unwanted email from vendors.
They will want you to become part of a new fun group. You don’t have to if not interested then.
Most comments are also worth reading as several here are very well informed and even better the humor is infectious........
If you're going to read about depressing political and social issues you need FR humor to escape depression...other sites don't have that like FR
I want to thank each of you for the information you have been so thoughtful to provide.
I will be striving to catch up as quickly as I can.
Merry Christmas to each of you!
Thanks,
txnativegop
Merry Christmas !
The humor here is very good for me.
The events these days, my health etc drag me down.
I come here, and many of the posts have me laughing so hard
that I forget how to type and my posts suffer accordingly.
Merry Christmas!
No
Your entire world ends at Freeperville.
Free Republic first, off and on all day. Up to the minute news and great commentary and hilarious sarcasm as the crisis mounts.
Mark Steyn, Front Page Mag (David Horowitz), Victor Davis Hanson, Michelle Malkin. I occasionally check out Real Clear Politics for a scan of what the libs are blabbing about as well as responses from the Right.
What no super large font, bold, Italic and underlined? LOL
Seriously though, I know that FR is an excellent site, I just need to get caught up.
Twitter is great for breaking news:

I would also try these sites:
