Why Is Free Republic Allowing Liberal Trolls To Stay?

There are some really annoying liberal trolls on Free Republic who have survived for months and years without being banned. Why is Free Republic allowing them to stay? We have enough liberalism and left wing lunacy on 90% of the media and we do not need this crap on this forum.

It is not difficult to spot these trolls. A quick review of their posting history will prove without any shadow of doubt that they are liberal trolls. Some of them try to mask it but they cannot fool the vast majority of us.

There are plenty of left wing forums which will welcome them that if they are not already registered and active members there.

It is time to get rid of them.

Hit the abuse bottom on them and hit it often.

Not our choice. FR is NOT a democracy, JV. It’s not even a representative republic. It’s private property. I try, and sometimes fail, to not make demands of a host in his own house. If you don’t like the way he arranges his furniture, get your own.

Ah, Ash. One of our first dedicated trolls - we didn't even call them that in those days, we called them "disruptors." I really think he was in it only for the fun. Quite a pleasant, cordial fellow in private. Don Morgan would become infuriated with him on a regular basis and post ASH ALERT!! on the thread...like we couldn't figure it out by ourselves.

He's been back under at least one other nick. I recognized his style and very obliquely he admitted it. Truth be told, I kinda liked him. I don't want a board full of people who only agree. Boring. Not that it's too likely around here...

Liberals are not allowed on this forum and neither are their stupid lunatic opinions. It is the policy of Free Republic.

I would dare say that most of the people who have replied to your post here, are not liberals. Heck, there might not be any in the list of posters.

Some may be republicans, some may be libertarians, some may be RINOs. I'm quite aware of the policy set down by Jim Robinson about this being a conservative forum. But, though that may be policy, how many people would be left in the forum if only strictly conservative members and opinions were allowed? I have no doubt that, if Jim Robinson's policy were to eliminate all that were not conservatives from the forum, that this site would see a huge drop in visits and posts.

But, I see that you didn't address the question I posed to you:

Would it not be "liberal-like" or fascist or communist to try to shut down the opposition?

I see some potentially bad omens on the horizon for FR. One is the demand to get rid of Mitt fans (or Mccain fans or Huck fans). I’m most certainly NONE OF THE ABOVE, but it is counterproductive to purge them. Next is the coronation chorus, demanding that Sarah be worshipped here. I’ll have none of that, even though she is certainly better than your average GOPer.

It’s going to be more brutal here than last time, I reckon, or the purges will pre-empt it. If there is another FredRepublic or equivalent official movement, I will self purge.

Newt, Both Bushes Trent Lott and John McCain are a FEW of the reasons that the GOP is in the condition that is is in today. In my opinion.

It is annoying and they take complete control by posting every 60 seconds. i think some of them are paid obots. I don’t get it because if I do what they do at DU I am deleted in nanoseconds. I even tried to be subtle and still got deleted from there several times.
A friend of mine has great success there and has several accounts that were made years ago. I guess since they are older accounts, they aren’t as suspicious.

ASH was a liberal poster back in the late 90's who would post anti-conservative news items and attempt to lure Freepers into "debates".
ASH never really debated, just repeated what his post said while trying to anger Freepers so he could cut-and-paste what they said to some other, probably liberal, forum to justify how "bad" conservatives were.
His main tactic was to try to prove Conservative (and Freepers) as hypocrites.

I can't recall the poster would post the ASH ALERTs. It was funny as all get out.

I've been suspended for both those infractions, and for using the term "Muslim Mass Murderers (MMM)" back when Dubya was still calling it a "religion of peace," and the muslim trolls came in in droves, hitting the abuse buttons.

A private organization is allowed to let anyway they want into their organization and not allow anyone they don’t want. We are not the government. I suppose using your logic the Boy Scouts should be required to allow homosexuals into their organization.

I agree with you. There are several people who do nothing but post things meant to demoralize conservatives or promote the homosexual/anti-Christian agenda.

I think most long-time FReepers could pick them out in a second. Why they are tolerated, I'll never know.
