Why Is Free Republic Allowing Liberal Trolls To Stay?
May 12 2009 | jveritas

Posted on 05/12/2009 12:07:37 PM PDT by jveritas

There are some really annoying liberal trolls on Free Republic who have survived for months and years without being banned. Why is Free Republic allowing them to stay? We have enough liberalism and left wing lunacy on 90% of the media and we do not need this crap on this forum.

It is not difficult to spot these trolls. A quick review of their posting history will prove without any shadow of doubt that they are liberal trolls. Some of them try to mask it but they cannot fool the vast majority of us.

There are plenty of left wing forums which will welcome them that if they are not already registered and active members there.

It is time to get rid of them.

Hit the abuse bottom on them and hit it often.

You really are a union thug.

Hardly. As a business owner myself I don't like them and see what the damage they have done. You twisted around what I said. and btw: what does that have to do with ceo compensation I mentioned in 335? I have nothing against how much a ceo makes to head you off. I just fed up with Ceo's making short term decisions, leaving the company with their golden parachutes, and that wrong decision they make soon comes back to haunt the company and it''s shareholders. You want examples?

Of course in America we can think and say what we want the but per Free Republic rules and I totally agree with them do not allow socialists, communists, left wing liberals, and defeatists.

tc45a is certainly a socialist. You can embrass him as much as you want.

jveritas, I think I hear McCain calling you, to kiss his A$$.

I think theis thread should be renamed “Why is Free Republic Allowing Rino Trolls to Stay?”

YOU and some of your fellow Rinos are the reason I rarely visit this site anymore. And I’m sure there are a whole lot of others just like me.

Cheers

Oh please, you were defending your socialist friends the UAW on many other threads. Please do not think for a second that you can fool most of us.

I'm not sure if I'm one of the people you're talking about, but I'm going to assume that I'm one of them. While I vote a straight Republican ticket, and am anti-abortion to my core, I do differ from the typical Freeper in many ways.

For starters, I'm an atheist. I also believe that a person has a right to death with dignity, I distinguish the free choice of a sentient person from the indiscriminate taking of life from an innocent preborn person who has no voice in the matter. I also don't give a hoot if Adam and Steve down the block want to play "married", and have a piece of government-issued paper that says so. But beyond that, most Freepers and fellow conservatives would find me a decent guy to get along with.

What's the value in keeping me around? Well, being as I'm not overly influenced by some of the factors that most Freepers have been affected by, I can offer a fresh perspective on things, while still remaining respectful to people I might personally disagree with. Over on the Carrie P threads, I've cautioned people to not embrace this particular spokesbabe too tightly, and on the political threads, I've advised people not to PO the Mormons more than is inevitable.

Disagree with me if you like, but I think I make some points that it behooves Freepers to consider every once in awhile.

Please agree to meet me somewhere that we may resolve this difference.

Did you really just call someone out on the internet? Like a little kid?

he just admitted that he supports Obama on the most dangerous thing such as absolute socialism if not total communism by taking over a US company from the shareholders and giving it to his voters the UAW socialist thugs.

I will go back on what I said about posting to you this one time. Your comment above is a FLAT OUT LIE. I never said that. That goes against what I believe. obama wants to give more power to shareholders so through proxy vote so they can decide ceo pay instead of board member cronyism. Guess what? Most shreholdes are for this. I never said anything about taking over a company by obama nor the gov't and my example never refered to such. Learn some English comprehension.

I am 100% against the gov't taking any share in any compny.

If you were ElRushbo for six years and still keep that as an open account that you haven’t used since 8/22/07, and you took up this newest account only 4 months ago, what name were you using in between, during the heat of the primary and the 2008 campaign?

No you are not on of those people that I meant. Not even close :)

I am pointing out to true Obama supporters, socialists, and left wing liberals. This population is extremely tiny on FR but they exist among us and cause some disturbance that we really do not need.

I look to FreeRepublic as a possible conservative force in this country, ... If all you want this site to be is a chat room, ...

As is the case much of the time, I believe the truth is somewhere in between.

Free Republic is an excellent resource for information. It is a veritable library not of articles, there are much more complete resources like Lexisnexis, but of commentary. Find an article on a subject that interests you, then watch it get dissected. Decide for yourself what the truth is. Research a thousand articles with the same keywords. It is a clearinghouse for all things conservative. How many novices have learned what conservative means, or veterans have educated themselves on new subjects?

It can also be a place to be a part of a community. I don't know how many ping lists there are, everything from airplanes to Zimbabwe, but Freepers can gather to encourage and support each other on topics that they are passionate on. And yes, it is also a place where they can organize. How many people went to tea parties that they heard about here? How many political rallies, candidate fundraisers, speeches or just good old fashioned get togethers have been organized here?

However, I don't think it is a place for national organization. Freepers have a few bedrock principles that unite them, but this is not a GOP message board. It is also not a Constitution Party, Falcon Party of Libertarian Party message board. It's not a California or Georgia message board. The reasons that Freepers are here are far too varied for them to be directed at a common goal. I appreciate your sentiment, but I feel this crowd is wired wrong for what you want.

Liberals have a much greater need to feel like part of a group. Conservatives are much more individuals. Liberals will join a group, often any group, just to belong. Conservatives have to be convinced to join. If you found a strong leader with excellent organizational skills they could possibly convince a significant portion (10%?) of Freepers to join in some sort of national effort. But you will need a leader, a goal, a plan and an excellent recruiting mechanism. I've seen many a vanity and many more posts opining that Freepers aren't organized but have all this untapped potential. No one has found the magic formula yet. Sarah Palin may have come the closest (Too bad about being tied to Yosemite Sam).

You have a hell of a nerve to decide you know who is or is not a troll and you overstepped by naming names.
You are now on my list of FR trolls but I will not hit the abuse button on you. I will ignore you instead.
