A climate warning from the deep ( a sea passage once divided Antarctica 125,000 years ago. )
The Observer ^ | Sunday 5 September 2010 | Robin McKie

Bryozoans found in the Ross and Weddell seas were almost identical, meaning the ice sheet that separates them isn’t as ancient as once thought. Photograph: British Antarctic Survey

Bryozoans make unlikely prophets of doom. Nevertheless, scientists believe these tiny marine creatures, which live glued to the side of boulders, rocks and other surfaces, reveal a disturbing aspect about Antarctica that has critical implications for understanding the impact of climate change.

British Antarctic Survey researchers have found the dispersal of these minute animals suggests a sea passage once divided Antarctica 125,000 years ago.

Amazing,....no mention that it must have been warmer back then.

Found this from a link in a comment to this thread with article from WUWT:

Inconvenient Ice Study: Less ice in the Arctic Ocean 6000-7000 years ago

Which goes to show that none of these alpha-hotels know what they're talking about regarding supposed AGW!

none of these alpha-hotels know what they're talking about regarding GW, much less supposed AGW!

These climateers are persistent, aren’t they? But then, so was Madoff.

They are pimping for grant dollars / euros / pounds / etc.

Without climate study grants they may have to find a real job and not be able to galavant around the world on OPM then go back to their caves to stroke their beards and contemplate the universe.

Forbid that these people might actually have to figure out something useful.

Interesting article. Of course if it is found to be true or not it does not detract from the volumes of information being accumulated that points to zero probability that CO2 could cause any global warming, or for that matter anything humans can do that could grossly effect climate changes.

Just posted this article from a warmists website:

Philippe Cousteau: “Time is running out for ourselves and future generations.” -- Alarmists

John Doerr: If we don't embrace a low carbon economy this decade, it won't just harm the planet, but also the U.S. economy.

Philippe Cousteau is becoming a true champion of the ocean and the climate (see “Stunning video makes clear prevention is the only cure: What dispersants have really done to Gulf“).  He is following in the footsteps of his famous father and even more famous grandfather with his work at Earth Echo.

All this would show is that during the last interglacial it was warmer than during this one, which hardly proves GW much less AGW.

But the Vostok ice core goes back 400,000 years. How could that glacier have been intact 125,000 years ago while the ice between the Ross and Weddell Seas completely melted???

These guys have some 'splainin' to do.

Notice the date of the filming. Even in the worst of conditions those tiny plumes of broken down oil would long have been consumed by the micro bacteria that feed on this stuff. I bet you ABC would not pitch in a dime now... to try to find any submerged oil plumes anywhere within millions of acres of the spill site.
Besides. What they witnessed is exactly what all knew it would look like during the first phase of the oil seperation and breakdown. Like I said in another post. The Frenchmen is an idiot.
