Why has FR turned on Cruz?
vanity | today | me

Posted on 05/02/2016 2:30:43 PM PDT by bassmaner

I'll keep this vanity short ... Mods: please feel free to pull it if it's inappropriate.

Why have so many here on FR turned on Ted Cruz in such a vicious way?

We cheered when we first heard about Ted taking on the establishment in TX to win the primary in the race to fill Kay Bailey Hutchison's vacated Senate seat, in a bad year for the GOP

We cheered again when Ted exhorted us to 'Stand With Rand' when he offered public support for Rand Paul's filibuster over the NDAA

Once more, we cheered when he stood on the Senate floor and urged his colleagues to join him and use the power of the purse to kill Obamacare

We nodded our collective heads in approval when he openly and correctly called Mitch McConnell a liar

And we jumped for joy when he became the first GOPer to announce a presidential run!

So ... what happened? Yes, Trump announced. But at first, not too many people took him seriously. For the longest time, there seemed to be an unspoken pact between Trump and Cruz, where they occasionally said nice things about each other while bashing the other candidates.

But ever since the voting began and Trump turned on Cruz (starting with the Ben Carson imbroglio in Iowa), a large contingent of FReepers did the same and seem to be echoing RINOs like John Boehner and Peter King in their absolute abhorrence of Cruz.

Yes, we need to choose sides, but for God's sake, can't we send that kind of vitriol in the direction that it belongs, ie. Hildabeast and the 'Rat Party, and knock off the circular firing squad?

I voted n for Cruz in my primary and it’s possible I’d vote for someone that gave money to Hillary, likes Planned Parenthood, and thinks you should be able to choose what gender bathroom you go to.
Nah, it’s just a scratch.

Cruz turned on conservatism and being a so called outsider. Everything he has done is GOPee like.

I didn’t and I don’t like Trump, but the way Cruz has tried to deny Trump the votes he won disgusts me. That’s why I like Cruz less

Any person who drinks excessively then falls off the stage is asking for it. Carly deserves no pity for her self-inflicted wounds.

So you're saying Ted Cruz picked a drunk as a running mate?

No, I’m pointing out the very same thing being said in post # of this topic.

Cruz decided to go on the attack against Trump. He lost. Big time. Now Ted won’t go away. Thus we don’t like Ted because he’s proven to be the whore we were all worried he might be.

Many posters have posted so many good and cogent reasons in this thread that I agree with, as to why we should not support Ted Cruz for the presidency, such as his incessant lying, his blaming the victims instead of the savage perps in Chicago, his mind dwelling so much on bestiality (sex with rats), his not recognizing reality and knowing when his time is up, his whiny, effeminate, nasal-twanged, grating voice, his reaching out and embracing of homo GOPe types for his team (like Lizzie Graham and Jebezel "Jebsy" Bush), etc., etc., etc.

Beyond that there is that peculiar nose he has (which another poster pointed out in another thread).   Have you ever taken a really good look at his nasal structures?   Hillary would have a field day with that peculiar proboscis, that bizarrely strange schnozzola!   Take a look here for yourself.

Cute.

Now ill repeat myself:

I’m sure you have TONS of examples of these “socialistic techniques”, which I’m sure will TOTALLY pass the laugh test.

I turned when he tagged teamed against Trump with Rubio and then blamed the Chicago riots on Trump rather than the left - gave the left cover for disruption. That last part was something I can not easily forgive. I can forgive the election tricks but not the acceptance of the left’s social justice warriors tactics.

It’s become clear that Trump will be the nominee. It’s now a mistake to do anything that might alienate Cruz supporters. Cruz doesn’t need anybody in November. Trump does.

It's also a mistake to let them insult Trump supporters going forward. If there is to be a truce it must be mutual.

He also gave money to and fund raised for Reagan.

I’m only anti-Cruz because he has such a shockingly low character. It’s not what jersey he claims to wear, that he claims to be a good religious conservative. Because he is dishonest, dirty, and nasty.

To me, it is more important that someone be a good, honest, genuine person than what political side or religion he claims.

You would really have to prioritize his conservative and Christian affiliation over his decency and morality NOT to see that he is a bad person at this point.

I’m certainly not kidding when I say the evidence suggests Boehner was attempting to help, not hurt, Cruz by insulting him.

My wife and I just turned on the TV and Cruz told his audience-”You are now being lifted up in prayer.” We both remarked he is twisted as any Christian would say. Cruz is delusional. He is no prophet.
