It was in the early 70’s. My husband was a USDA Forest Service Ranger at the time. He got a phone call early one morning from a rancher. (we were buying timber from him for some local sawmills to harvest) He wanted him to come look at a calf carcass he had just found on his ranch. I was friends with his wife so I went with him.
The calf carcass was lying on its back. It was totally eviscerated from rectum to snout. Internal organs, eyeballs, tongue surgically removed. The cuts were clean, almost laser like. The grass around the carcass was not trampled, it was like the carcass was just dropped there. The oddest thing, to me, was that there were no flies nor insects around.
The local newspaper came out and took pictures and wrote an article.
The night before, the police department was flooded with calls about sightings over the Black Hills.
I see a interstellar business opportunity here!

When I lived in Germany, I saw a very intensely bright light in the sky, say, around 8:00PM wintertime. I was outside working on something in my garden. I’m usually pretty observant and said to myself “it was a star or planet”—then all of a sudden it occurred to me that no star or planet was there a few moments ago. The thing was about -8 magnitude at least. VERY bright. Then as I watched in wonder, it just faded out to black. The night was cloudless, clear and very dark.
I KNEW I saw a UFO.
A couple years later, say around 1997/8, we returned to the states. I was out early one evening at my farm in Alabama. I saw the same DANG THING.
By this time I was a young FReeper with Internet Fu so I was able ot look it up online. I found this:

Well, it works, and I saw the same thing—Iridium Flares—many times.
TLDR; I thought—I was convinced—I saw a UFO, in two disparate places on Earth, but did not. It was a LEO satellite reflecting the sun light off its solar panels.
Saw something similar in late '72 / early '73 while up in the mountains west of Colorado Springs. We noticed a stationary light in the sky which suddenly moved rapidly away and vanished from sight.
I believe the UFOs (in many cases) are indicative of alien intelligence—but I have never seen one myself.
A military “technician” and an EPA librarian. Quite the lesbian brain trust, no doubt.
While flying over southern Nevada, I was convinced for about half an hour that we were being followed by “something”. It was the planet Venus; the “being followed” bit was an illusion. When the illusion broke, the real situation was obvious and I couldn’t get myself to see it “following us” again. While the illusion held, is was absolutely convincing.
You will see better pictures as phone cameras get better.
I was a professional photographer for fourteen years. I had a huge camera and long sports lens in the car most of the time. I wished I could have seen one of those. They would have been spectacular.
The only Tim I saw something it was out of the window of an airplane. I had nothing handy. I was pissed.
One of them is a guy who had his stuff cut off. Very strange.

U-2s (and other military spy planes) do not have the flight characteristics of many UFOs.
The bona fide UFOs make sharp turns in mid-air (sometimes ninety to one hundred and eight degrees), sometimes split into two or more objects, and change colors as they move.
Other bona fide UFOs hover at very low altitudes (sometimes hundreds of feet).
This thread needs a little more info, so...
Look—many folks serious about this topic find it unlikely that alien visitors are from distant galaxies.
The most disturbing (and more likely) ideas are that they have long-standing underground civilizations (and view us as the “surface savages”), are from another dimension which we don’t understand and can’t measure (like ants can’t understand human cities), or are time travelers from the distant past or future.
It is human arrogance to believe that we are at the top of the pecking order of the universe and have discovered all of the important secrets. I don’t buy it.
I saw what i believe may have been an alien space craft or rather a landing craft in 1958, it was doing everything a helicopter could do except maybe 20 times as fast.
Also in the late seventies we were headed into Mexico and saw a green solid light cross the entire southern sky, it was like a jet but no stream and crossed the sky many times faster than a Jet could.

October 8, 1968, Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College, 8:45 PM or so. I was standing behind the stage of the Up With People performance on about the 50 yard line taking pictures for the Sacramento Union, the show's sponsor. I had a 35mm camera lent to me by the newspaper, set to capture a silhouette of cast members haloed by the bright stage lights. I got that shot and then backed up to take a shot of the 8,000 people in the stands.
Looking over the audience, which was to the West of the stage, I clearly saw a classic flying saucer disk shaped UFO move slowly from north to south and then hover over the crowd above the news announcers' boxes above the crowd. It was glowing silvery white slightly, perhaps reflecting the parking lot lights or the remnants of the setting sun, and totally silent. It appeared to be rotating clockwise slowly, but I don't know how I could tell that, as I don't recall any distinguishing marks on it that would give me a sense of motion, but I knew it was rotating. It was low enough that the silhouettes of some very tall pine trees against the sky behind it were blocked by it. It was about twice the size the moon would have been had it been in that position.
It stayed there for a good two or three minutes, then suddenly accelerated straight up at an enormous speed and dwindled out of sight, still without a sound, not even the sound of whooshing wind.
No member of the 8,000 audience saw it but almost all of the 125 members of cast "B" of Up With People on stage—including a young Glenn Close who stayed at my parents' house that night—did see it. Being well rehearsed, they did not break stride in their performance, but continued with the show during the entire appearance of the UFO that stopped to see a portion of their show. The UFO was the talk of the rest of that year on the tour bus for the cast members.
A year later I started going to college at Mackinac College in Michigan (where Up With People was originally founded) and several of the Up With People cast members were fellow students and they all saw the UFO.
After the had UFO vanished, I realized I had been standing there with my jaw dropped HOLDING A SOPHISTICATED 35mm SLR CAMERA and did not even try to take a photograph of it! I was in such shock I did not even think about it and just stood there and stared.
I have—I was a teen, so mid 1970’s. We were staying at my uncle’s house in the mountains near Boone, NC and I had a huge picture window in my room. I woke up in the middle of the night to lights shining in—they were in a cylindrical shape oriented up and down and they rotated slowly around a center axis. The colors changed, but it has been a long time and I have forgotten the exact colors. After watching for a few minutes I went and got my father and by the time we got back it was gone. He believed me though...
Cattle mutilations have been going on in the Southwest for decades. No one can explain them, no one ever seems to witness it happening and in the age of trail cameras and other video recording devices there isn’t any photo evidence of a mutilation happening and yet it still occurs. The government doesn’t seem to care about this horribly occurring phenomemnom . Poor animals being butchered like that and ranchers losing precious live stock.
I saw the one a few years back at Chicago ohare, pulled into my gate and it was just sitting there above the gate..strange enough I had just finished some deep prayers..I am Christian..I starred at it for a few minutes,said if they are not from Christ I did not care if they were millions of years ahead, then fell asleep, woke back up as the plane was almost empty deboarding..very strange..
