JERUSALEM New archaeological tests have confirmed that the site many Christians believe to be the tomb of Jesus Christ dates back 1,700 years to A.D. 325, the same era when the Romans first identified the place as holy.
With invasions, fires and even earthquakes occurring at Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre over the centuries, historians had questioned whether the tomb had been destroyed or moved.
To date the tomb, known as the Holy Edicule, conservators from the National Technical University of Athens looked at radioactive elements in the architectural glue that fit it together. They also used ground penetrating-radar and laser scanning.
Thetomb is the size of a coat closet, and was open for just 60 hours while restoration work was also carried out.
The results of the tests were first reported Tuesday by National Geographic.
"Scientists and archaeologists are very excited about this because what it does is it corroborates our historical accounts," said National Geographic archaeology writer Kristin Romey, who was on-site during the nine-month renovation project.

The Romans are said to have torn down a temple in Jerusalem where they found the cave that they believed to be his burial site. They then built a shrine and a church around that site."
Let me guess . . . they did DNA on the bones they found in the tomb.
Most Scientist’s believe in God.
It’s difficult to dispute, and we find truth ALL around us.
With all due respect to Constantine, the first Christian Roman emperor, he along with his mother, Helen, started the false rumor that Mt Horeb is in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, and even may have given Mt Horeb the name “Mt. Sinai.” With that on his record, I’m skeptical that it is the tomb until I learn more.
The Bible clearly tells us Mt Horeb is in the land of Midian, which today is Midyan province in northwestern Saudi Arabia.
So, there’s no mention of glue or much of anything. What was the point of the article?
Wherever it is—He’s not there...
Since Jesus’ day, Jerusalem has undergone periodic urban renewal and redevelopment projects as well as population management programs undertaken by the Romans, the Persians, the Arabs, the Turks, the Crusaders and so on, so I’m skeptical of such reports.
On Sunday 12/3, National Geographic is airing an Explorer Special titled “Secrets of Christ’s Tomb.” Airs 9 p.m. eastern time with a repeat showing at 1 a.m. on 12/4. My DVR’s set.

And newly deciphered graffiti in Sinai mines happen to mention Moses:

I picture Geraldo Rivera present, dressed in middle eastern robes....

fyi
I wondered the same thing. It’s like hearing they found the Dead Sea Scrolls and then nothing for 40 years. At least they can use computers to sort the data...
wow. thank you.
“If we were less preoccupied with safe spaces, trigger warnings, the introduction of all-inclusive pronouns, gender-neutral everything, and the latest Hollywood scandals, we might have taken notice of more important discoveries. But a self-absorbed society and the mainstream media’s agendas have kept the focus elsewhere. This is to be regretted, because in the meantime, genuinely significant news has been passing us by.”
Time to share on facebook. P.S. the MSM agenda is Satan’s agenda.
I was at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Holy Saturday 2014. It was a very moving experience, but one thing struck me as funny. As the article States the church is governed by three different Christian sects. As a result of conflicts between the caretakers it is the only church that I’ve ever been in where there is no collection. No collection boxes nothing.

Jerusalem was wiped clean by the Romans. Nobody left. They completely rebuilt everything from the rubble. What every thinks is the Temple Mount and the Western wall are probably the remains of the Roman fortress.
Imagine Washington DC getting hit by several hydrogen bombs. Then, a hundred years later people come along and builds a city completely devoid of anything previous, using all the ruble. Then two hundred years later someone else comes along and says, “this is where the Whitehouse was”. Over there, that’s where the Smithsonian was. Sure. And yonder over in Bethlehem, that’s where Jesus was born.
