The use of the drug LSD, or commonly referred to as “acid,” appears to be increasing especially among young adults in Arcata, according to an Arcata Police Department press release issued yesterday.
On April 18, officers responded to a residence to assist the Arcata Mad River Ambulance with a 31-year-old male subject who had just castrated himself. Medical personnel and officers were unable to locate the subject’s testicles. He later told officers that he flushed them down the toilet as he feared they contained “monsters.”

Wow, I remember when all you had to worry about in terrifying LSD stories was the guy who thought he was Superman and jumped off the building. Now I have a whole new story to scare the hell out of my kids with!

I have these halloween glow in the dark eye inserts.
They sit overtop your eyelids in the hollow of your eye socket.
I sat next to Mr Adventure and said, “Hey buddy, how ya doin’?”
He looked at me and began to quiver.
I then said, “Hold on a minute” I pulled the eye inserts off and yelled as if I had pulled my eyes out.
Mr Adventure screamed, put his hands over his own eyes, and began trying to hide from me.
Eventually my brother was told to take me home as I was harshing the buzz.

Or... maybe what they are taking is not actually LSD-25.
The reactions described are more akin to things I have witnessed (never quite as serious as self-castration, mind you) from users of PCP, STP, etc.
As long as there have been drug dealers there have been drug dealers misrepresenting their “wares”.
