Why are Blacks Democrats?

Over 90% of Blacks voted against President Bush and over 80% are Democrat. I don’t get it. The Republican Party has done so much more for integration. Blacks have more in common with the principals of Republicans than due Democrats; poll after poll has established this. Up until the fifties, Black numbers in voting Republican was substantial. Why the departure?

I have a theory. The greatest strides in the civil rights movement were in the 60’s. The greatest leader was Martin Luther King, Jr. MLK, Jr. was peaceful and a Christian Preacher who spoke to fellow Christian’s hearts. This is why many Americans were attracted to his message. After his assassination, the civil rights movement moved toward its secular-socialist ways, away from the Christian message, and toward the Democratic Party. The Christians who were moved by the Christian message, like MLK, Jr.’s, began to leave the Democratic Party, renouncing there racist ways.

I need some help on this, and your own thoughts about why blacks are more apt to vote Democrat. I have a college project that I’m doing and any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I may publish my findings, so please keep it intelligent, and give permission to print your name if you want credit. Thank you.

Some reasons..

Deterioration with black culture and breakdown of the family starting in the 60's including high drug usage rate, high dropout rate, high illegitamcy rate, high incarceration rate, high welfare dependency rate.

The more people behave irresponsibly and depend on the government, the more likely they will vote Democrat.

The democrats bought the votes of blacks with the massive "Great Society" spending programs that over proportionality took money from non black America and gave it to black America. We can argue that these programs destroyed the black family - but now they are entitlements and blacks will vote for anyone who will fund and expand them...

The same mentality is with seniors, the democrat vote and social security.

"When you rob Peter to pay Paul, you will get the vote of Paul. If there are more Pauls than Peters, you win the election."

How about the black minority is a surrogate action group for post holocast Jews. The blacks were assigned civil rights issues that would benefit the smaller minority Democrat Jews.

Once the ball started rolling it was a sure winner.

"Principal" is either a designation of a senior rank or a capital bringing in financial returns [say, "interest on a principal"]. "Principle" is probably what you meant.

Wouldn't modern allegiance to the Democrats be traced to the loyalty to the Civil Rights focus of JFK and LBJ and Barry Goldwater's unfortunate opposition to the Civil Rights Bill?

It goes back to the Johnson administration when he voted into law "The Great Society" meaning you could sit on your ass and collect welfare for life. This was specifically sold to inner-city blacks coming on the heals of then civil rights movement which was Republican led, I should add.

His exact phrase (dont flame me this is an actual quote!!) "I'll have them niggers voting Democrat for YEARS"

the dpression? yes, it could be argued it was one confluence of events which served the indoctrinators well...

but slavery is gone, the depression is gone, a successful black is just as likely as a successful white to tout the wonders of the free market......Now someone with an agenda, (jackson, sharpton, farakhan) will keep the black man down as long as it serves their purpose. All must be responsible, though, of course..

I notice blacks go out of thier way to be 'different', to the point of segregating themselves from the mainstream.

Because Democrats decided that they wanted to champion the Civil Rights movement and set out to show Blacks that they were victims and needed a lot of free handouts to "make it". Human nature seems to gravitate towards those that want to give you something for nothing and to tell you that you can do no wrong because any wrong you do is someone else's fault. The irony is, Democrats have effectively put many Blacks back into slavehood, and they embraced it willingly. Even Stokley Carmichael understood the problems inherent in the Democrat version of the Civil Rights movement and warned Blacks that they would become slaves if they went along. He co-authored a book titled "Black Power" that was pretty incendiary, but also mentioned the problems of following the Dims.

For the same reason they speak Ebonics. It's self-imposed ignorance and slavery.

If a black wants to speak in proper English they call you an "Uncle Tom" or an Oreo cookie. Same with voting Republican. Republicans are "da man".

We remember his message in Washington, and blacks were disproportionately unemployed in government at the time. Dems did not want them. What changed them from Republican?
