Like many traditional Americans I have been torn between my love of country and respect for the office of President and my fear and loathing of the man now holding that position and of his policies. I have written several posts that essentially said that we should try to defeat those policies we abhor (destruction of capitalism, nationalized healthcare, imposition of socialism, class warfare, equalization of outcomes, discarding our defenses in a dangerous world), but support Obamas attempts to strengthen our essential financial services industry.
Obamas so-called recovery programs and his takeover of General Motors and the firing of its president has made me see that my position is untenable.

Nor has mine. What took the author of this piece so long?
To say he “fell for it” means that he was against it......
The electorate that are shaping this country have no clue to the larger picture.
They are sustained by intravenously-fed, 24/7 entertainment yielding very successful dumbing down that is continuously primed by sugary “gimme” promises and class contempt by the manipulative left—and faddish pop culture messages of ‘sacrifice’ ( look for this to wear thin, the left leaning populace has not demonstrated the maturity or ability to really know what ‘sacrifice ‘ means-—it is today’s fashion trend led by the cult of Obama and is a flagrant and evil device to gain hearts and minds for social control).
While in parallel, the citizenry are “progressive” lemmings ( read: “I’m hip, see how enlightened I am?”....just like my favorite celebrities) in demonizing the responsible common sense, cause and effect fundamentals that represent ‘stodgy’ conservative ideals.
These victimized, indulged, childlike citizens are paving the way for us all to be dominated as pawns in the grand reframing of cooperative civilization, led by a few.
It is not a pretty picture. But they are vicious in their defense of Obama.
My previously intelligent cousin has been inoculated against reason with her rapt support of Obama, she will not tolerate ANY discussion that is not automatically positive about Obama. She throws her hands up, “Says I will NOT discuss THIS”...turns her back with an emotional shield that is cult-like.
Until the grisly outcome is set and done—and we’ve lost so much of what so many sacrificed for—and this cult-like, child-like populace begins to feels the discomfort of what they’ve ushered in—this direction will continue traction.
Ignorance is bliss. Pain must come before awareness. The pain will come.
“Government of the riff-raff, by the riff-raff and for the riff-raff.”
My understanding is that the original, unamended Constitution specified that only landowners could vote. And it also said that only men could vote. Why the hell were these things changed?
My position on the Kenyan usurper has never changed.
To win this fight you have to know the tactics of your enemy, and turn those tactics against them. The left has been very successful in characterizing Christians as self-righteous, unenlightened, hypocritical, flat-Earth types. They have been very successful in characterizing conservatives as poorly read, mean-spirited, selfish, non-'progressives’ who are responsible for the gun deaths in America, make the world hate us, and who are throwbacks to an earlier less enlightened time in history.
The terms of the argument need to be redefined. The democrats and liberals need to be characterized openly and repeatedly as naive, self-centered, narcissistic, totalitarian types who have outdated ideas and who are unenlightened and anti-progress. Alinsky’s rules support ridiculing your opponents publicly. The left has done this repeatedly (Palin, Bush, Quayle, etc.) The old money types on the right seem to feel it is undignified to get down in the trenches and fight the criticisms and ridicule thrown at them. I don't think that's a viable strategy when dealing with the left. I think the left needs to be counterpunched, each and every time they try their tactics.
The goal should be to make the words ‘liberal’ and ‘progressive’
Marxism is our nation's most serious threat. Schools are the Marxists most important weapon.
Schools could also be the conservatives most important weapon. We must completely close down government K-12 schools, work to reform our colleges and universities, and open new conservative alternatives.
I'm more concerned about the "pre-emptive" surrender implied by readily agreeing to call some on the right "crazy" while not using the term of the left: because the MSM and others will draw the line defining "right wing" as "just to the right of Keith Olbermann"...
Thanks for the courteous reply, I'll call off the dogs...
Cheers!
Politicians coveted the votes of horoscope aficionados and American Idol fans.
Ok, we've made the words, now what?
Sorry, forgot to delete that. I meant to say that we need to redefine those words such that they become generally derisive terms.
"The urge to escape our real self is also an urge to escape the rational and the obvious. The refusal to see ourselves as we are develops a distaste for facts and cold logic. There is no hope for the frustrated in the realm of the actual and the possible. Salvation can come to them only from the miraculous, which seeps through a crack in the iron wall of inexorable reality. They ask to be deceived. What Stresemann said of the Germans is true of the frustrated in general: "[They] pray not only for [their] daily bread, but also for [their] daily illusion.".... They are easily persuaded and led
"Whenever we proclaim the uniqueness of a religion, a truth, a leader, a nation, a race, a part or a holy cause, we are also proclaiming our own uniqueness".
"Vehemence is the expression of a blind effort to support and uphold something that can never stand on its own... Whether it's our own meaningless self we are upholding, or some doctrine devoid of evidence, we can do it only in a frenzy of faith".
"We usually see only the things we are looking for so much so that we sometimes see them where they are not".
"When our individual interests and prospects do not seem worth living for, we are in desperate need for something apart from us to live for. All forms of dedication, devotion, loyalty and self-surrender are in essence a desperate clinging to something which might give worth and meaning to our futile, spoiled lives"
"Failure in the management of practical affairs seems to be a qualification for success in the management of public affairs".
You're correct about Clinton. Deep down he was a liberal, but he governed as an opportunist. Bill Clinton was more interested in being prez than he was being a liberal or an ideologue. Towards that end he'd say or do anything that he viewed as politically expedient. Remember he did cut cap gains taxes, sign welfare reform, pass nafta, and a few other things true libs view as anathema. That's when he wasn't using up the WH interns for his fun times.
Obama, of course, is different. Obama is a committed leftist and will not cut taxes or pass welfare reform. In fact, he's trying to reinstall all the old welfare provisions. I'm not big fan of Slick Willy either, but compared to Obama, he looks positively Hayekian.
The first thing Hannity should ask these morons if they've ever heard of Marx or communism before he starts asking if they're heard the Marx slogan ("from each according to his ability, to each according to his need"). I've heard at least one the idiots he's interviewed say he never heard of Marx. Without mentioning the proper framework, just about anyone could agree with that phrase.
A number of people I know still use the word liberal to describe themselves politically and are not the least embarrassed about it. They do not use the word progressive, although that may come later. I've always been puzzled that libs don't like to be called libs. Conservatives have been disparaged for decades, but we proudly wear that label. Why libs would seek to call themselves by other names is something I find amusing. As if people won't eventually catch on to their calling themselves progressives.
I personlaay do not care what an obama supporter or as they say, a former obama supporter thinks.
It is too late now. They stuk us with the bastard. Let them enjoy him. In fact, the only thing I despise more than ob ama. is the stupid idiots and parasites that inflicred him on me. I do not need or want their sympathy and as far as I am concerned , they can go straight to hell.
You need to spend some time reading before you make Clinton pronouncements.
