What does Wachovia know that we don't?

Called Wachovia early this morning to reorder checks. In the process, I must have hit a button I wasn't supposed to.

The next thing I hear is a recording. "As of November First, all emergency procedures will be in place, and all Wachovia personnel should stay with their families. If you have any questions, please contact your Sector Supervisor."

Now, I'm not a nut, but the next thing I know an operator came on the line and asked me, by name what they could help me with. Got me looking over my shoulder, and I don't have nerves, just nerve.

As it would have me. I am quite sure I would have done exactly what you did. I'm glad you shared. Like you said, better for many to know than for something like this to go unspoken and find out later it really did mean something. Then it's just "face palm" -- why didn't I say something!

It probably is left over from November 2008, when they were on the verge of bankruptcy.

That's what occurred to me, but why would they be advising personnel to "stay with their families?" That's the kind of thing you say only when there's a major disaster.

No; It was joke!

I do work in the industry however, and that would be/is standard operating procedure for the company to have.
If a disaster hits; they want to have a way to get basic info out to employees.

I would hopefully be aware if something big was going on, but I would probably read it here first.

That’s why I waited.

It was either say nothing and something happen, or say something and possibly sound like a loon.
