I have long enjoyed Free Republic as a news source, and greatly enjoy the depth of the commentary. I woke up from my political coma, like many Americans, during the 2007 Presidential campaign. I have since been silently witnessing the pain and suffering of our beloved country and liberties. I sincerely want the tide of politics to shift, but fear it too late. Time will show. I hope I can contribute to the FReep discussions intelligently.

The concept, IMO, is that you
participate in the thread you put up.
Don't just post and run.
There is much to be garnered from your initial post.
Just three years since your awakening and you're a "long time" lurker...Hmmmmm...three years isn't a very long time.
