Since he began his membership in 1998 he has made a lot of friends here, many of whom were expecting freepmail once we got to our place in Kentucky. There are also some here who he worked with in the past in the real world. And his only connection to these people now is freerepublic and freepmail.

Rob told me, as he likes to say, "two things": 1. He really enjoyed this site, maybe too much and 2. Getting revoked is very much like being a ghost. You are there, but it takes all your mental strength just to push a penny up a door. It's frustrating, so the best thing to do is quit haunting the place.

Well, his first or second post was reasonable - although muddle-headed - but taking a shot at the woman for being “emotional” was below the belt. A lot of guys here these days are racheting up the misogyny and it’s VERY ill-placed. So for me, it was hot.
One of my oldest friends was tortured and abused by a step-father and became a multiple personality as a result, along with being a rank Socialist (which I pity her for). Her wits and flat out Mensa smarts have helped her greatly.
I really like the comment of LOLcats that “I cannot unsee.” I remember seeing pix of Liz Taylor and Brooke Shields at the same age. Now, the ages are being lowered even, and, to be frank, I think these people coming up with such ideas should be sent to Mars.
As a teenager many years ago, I remember being in a car with a retired LEO, who was driving. He went on a rant about how “it’s like people aren’t people anymore.” The topic was about crimes against young people. The days of my feral childhood, being interrupted only by lunch and dinner, running, biking and whatever, all over creation in the neighborhood, are long gone.
This could go on forever.

I hope you know that med schools taught—and for a very long time—the concept of the hysterical female as usual and cause to dismiss female concerns of any kind, including offering a diagnosis of something being “all in your head.” My grandmother and another relative went through this—Grandmother ending up with and dying of cancer, and the relative ending up with major surgery for an unusual physical condition.
That is a hundred and eighty degrees out of phase with the thread on which RobRoy got himself zotted.
In that thread, it was established that the person in question had intentionally collected kiddie porn, and was demanding unsupervised access to his children.
I don't care whose children they are, sex offenders need to be supervised around them.

Absolute horror stories. Freud also added a whole level of stupidity and cruelty to the discussion - and I am one of the few people here who thinks Freud knocked it out of the park occasionally.

When you to try to say there are differences in child porn( possessing pics as opposed to taking the pics) you tend to get yourself in hot water.....

It’s sounded like he was aiming for the defense of having bath-tub photos of the Grandkids (something folks have gotten into kiddie-porn trouble for regardless of the innocence of original intent), and ended up riding the lightning...

Agreed. I used to lecture on what I called the 3D cone of argument: logical, emotional, physical and spiritual. Once you move from logical, you slide quickly into degenerating and self-reinforcing arguments and statements of the other types, the spiritual corruption being by far the most dangerous.
I never thought of my concept as particularly novel, either, but it did impact a few people.
It’s interesting that I was just thinking this morning that using curse words in making a point, which I have been guilty of doing, means you automatically lose an argument, since the opposing party has found a weak point and will use that to ‘squeeze.’
The child porn in question was not accidentally downloaded on the pervert's computer. It was a huge stash of physical books and magazines. Those don't just happen when you open the wrong email. And the topic was not execution, but unsupervised child visitation.
Follow the chain of comments from the article, to post three bringing up how hard it is to go without internet, to post six submitting that no internet or child custody is the alternative to righteous execution, to RobRoy's response at post sixteen.
At the end of the day, fantasizing over sex with children and indulging in building a huge collection of pictures of that aught to result in not being allowed near children unless there is someone sane there to protect the child.

I didn’t see anything about bathtub photos in the thread. That would have made a difference. What the person missed was that possessing this crap means you are viewing REAL children in evil and highly criminal situations. And I’m assuming one purchases this stuff. He may have simply been clumsy in saying what he believes but who knows? Now we’ll never know, lol!!
