Answer to a question nobody (ever) asked |

Octopus- those ought to stay-down well after a long night's drinking |
aka 'Louisiana Road-Kill' |
Can't I just get my hotdog next to the chips -like in the picture? |
Kiwi-flavored... why |
And do my fellow Yanks know what HAGGIS consists of...? (hint: makes Tijuana street-purchased chorizo look like prime rib) |
If you drive down to KY you can probably find some squirrel bullion cubes in one of those mom and pop markets up in the hills lol
Have you tried the duck’s blood soup? Yummy, but only if you are Duckula.
Octopus, squid and shrimp chips should only be eaten with Singha beer.
“And do my fellow Yanks know what HAGGIS consists of...?”
I do, it consists largely of the ‘pluck’ from a sheep, ie the heart, lungs, liver etc minced up with spices and oats. Which is significantly better than what you’ll find in most hot dogs. . . . . :)

That is, if they haven’t already tossed into the bergoo pot with the rest of the critters.
When I was a kind growing up in Cleveland in the 60s/70s, they still had home-delivered “Charles Chips” (like the milkman, which we still had up to ‘68)
The chips were GREAT and came in round, returnable brown tin with gold letters, so their trucks looked like UPS
Never had Gibble’s... PA only I assume
The old Charles Chips tin cans are a staple at all flea markets and swap meets in the NE.
We had that in Florida, as well, when I lived there back in the late 70s. Especially loved the Chocolate-covered pretzels.
Personal ***ping***
Lays Classic....undercooked whitebread PC chips that have been decolesterolized, defatted, decooked and deeeeeee-not-licious.
I remember them back when - golden BROWN in some cases, even some a little over cooked...now all you see is undercooked slightly yellow papp - all because they think cooking them right causes cancer......ugh!
“Odd-flavored chips are very popular in Britain.”
I agree. I once had a bag of British chips that were Turkey Dinner flavored. They were amazing. You could actually taste the turkey, gravy and stuffing in the seasoning.
Haggis flavored chips! Ahhh, Laddy, made with only the finest sheep innards, oats, onions, and wee spices. I can feel me pipes are stirrin’!
Tastes as good as it sounds, good for what ails ye.
Humpty Dumpty Sour Cream & Clam Ripple Chips

Naaa...just go out in the backyard. You don’t need any country store for that.
Fried squirrel, biscuits and gravy is one fine meal!

“Germans had GREAT chips”
We Germans know junk food. We understand it.
OMG! LOL! I’ve wondered about the Charles Chips for the last few days when I stumbled upon the “inventor of chips” and it got me thinking and reading. Mention was made of packaging and I thought of my mother’s pictures of parties in the ‘50s and them holding “Charles Chips” tins up! Wondered what happened to them.
I was going to try Kishka, but somebody stole it.
