‘We’re Going to Get Creamed’: Lerner Emails Paint Picture of Planning 501(c)(4) Scrutiny

A House committee report claims Lois Lerner, who oversaw the Internal Revenue Service’s scrutiny of tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status, lied to Congress about her involvement in the targeting scandal.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released a report Tuesday concluding that Lerner “created unprecedented roadblocks for Tea Party organizations” and “worked surreptitiously to advance new Obama administration regulations that curtail the activities of existing 501(c)(4) organizations.” […]

The emails paint a picture of IRS officials being aware of the potential political consequences of their actions and the increasing attention on the issue. On several occasions, Lerner received emails from colleagues that focused on the political involvement of tax-exempt conservative groups.

In March 2012, IRS Deputy Division Counsel Janine Cook sent an article to Lerner that discussed the potential congressional investigations and the IRS’s treatment of tax-exempt applicants. Lerner responded by writing: “we’re going to get creamed.” …

With Jarett being out front and media active the last several days I suspect she is very deep in do-do. Watching her on TV this am I had the feeling she was trying to crawl out of a hole. I understand she is immune from giving any congressional testimony. It is a shame for our system of government to allow such escaping from public scrutiny while allowing the same government to waste time and resources trying to hang a guy like Soussa(?) for going public.

Maybe Issa should have another hearing.

This is so big we need more committees to hold hearings to plan for the hearings that will be needed. Of course this will all take time, so we first need to re-elect everyone so they can dig right in and get right to it... later.

Any ‘civilized’ society would have by now not only arrested and tried the guilty parties, but executed them for abhorrent crimes against America. Why NO one in the House has had the balls to file charges against Obama is absolutely amazing. Not only is he a fraud but he has violated the oath of office to defend the Constitution and committed crimes against America.

The GOP thinks the mid terms are in the bag.

It looks that way — I don't think that things'll be all that good for them though.

I expect them to get even more timid and cautious.

Is that even possible!?

That means no serious escalation on the IRS scandal. Just a few more debate club hearings to get us to the election.

As if that wasn't obvious; just look at the lack of fight on anything recently: NSA, Fast & Furious, Benghazi, and so on.

They think that they own you and your vote and so don't have to do anything to earn it.
I look forward to them being knocked on their ass.

Nobody in the GOP has filed charges against the kenyan because there are members of their own party ready and willing to back stab them immediately.

Conservatives get a frontal assault from the Dems, attacked from the rear by “Republicans” and the flank by the MSM. Custer had it easier at LBH.

Because he's "historic."

The thing is, we're getting a different kind of "historic" than we thought.

not a “smidgen” of corruption

It's the unspoken follow-on to that statement that reveals the truth.

"Not a smidgen of corruption, but a whole trainload."
