Musk is, unfortunately, probably wrong. An arrest will galvanize Trump’s base. And it will enrage some patriotic middle-of-the-roaders. Those folks will give Trump another look.

But leftists will still vote Democrat. And soccer moms will still shy away from Trump because of his mean tweets. And I’m not even considering voter fraud yet.

Sorry for the pessimism. As I see it, the only way out would be for the entire media to wake up and denounce the arrest, while at the same time highlighting Biden’s many real crimes. What’s the chance of that happening?
