Google Map Mystery (Satellite imaging catches a UFO over Magnolia Gardens, Fla.)
unknowncountry.com ^ | 18May2005

Posted on 05/20/2005 11:38:21 PM PDT by Las Vegas Dave

< snip >....Satellite map of Magnolia Park, Florida shows a clear view of an unusual object floating above 39th Street in the town.

The shadow on the object is similar to the shadows on the ground, meaning that it is in the atmosphere relatively close to the surface, probably no higher than 20,000 feet.

There are no towers or unusual objects in the area that could account for the formation, which appears to be in rapid vibrational movement. Because of the unusual motion visible on its surface, it is not likely that this is a balloon.

Without knowing its distance from the ground, it is impossible to determine the size of the object, but it would seem to be quite large, even huge.

Calls to individuals living in the area and a search of news sources for 2005 revealed no reports of UFOs over Palm Beach or Magnolia Park this year. The last National UFO Reporting Center report for Palm Beach was in 1999.

This is a confirmed unknown object in the air above a populated area in the United States, recorded sometime in 2005.

It looks exactly like a weather balloon as seen from the top.

I had sex in that zip code the day this photo was taken. It could be the tip of my condom.

Do they still even use weather balloons?

Do they still even use weather balloons?

Apparently so.

From Ballooning and Meteorology in the Twentieth Century:

Balloons are ideal for gathering meteorological information and have been used for that purpose throughout their history. Meteorological measurements of wind and air pressure have gone hand in hand with the earliest balloon launches and continue today. Balloons can climb through the denser air close to the Earth to the thinner air in the upper atmosphere and collect data about wind, the different layers of the atmosphere, and weather conditions as they travel.

From the bit of research I did scientists also use balloons all the time to study the atmosphere and near space.

This unidentified object is northwest of the first one in the thread.

This one is far to the north of the first unidentified object. I'm sure that there are more, but I'll let others start scanning the city.. ;)

Now that three of them have been spotted in the area around the city, I suppose the idea that it could be a weather balloon is pretty much out of the question. Two balloons, I could see, but three, all similarly sized?

Ahh well.

Looks like a condensation dome from a 'concussion device'; hemispherical in nature, ground-based.

I envision this being the product of a small ground-burst thermonuclear or conventional device a few tens of microseconds thereabouts after detonation ...

I wasn't trying to pull your speech cord, I just couldn't think of anything better to say to the fact that "aliens" and "aliens" are two different things. One already has his own vehicle and place to live, for example. By the way, "wetback" is hardly PC.

I've gotta go back to the BBQ. Besides the meat, I took some apples and cut them in half and put some brown sugar on them. I'm smoking them now. I thought it might go well with ice cream. If you're interested, I'll let you know how they turn out.

I did too!

At the moment of orgasm, a small drop of perspiration dropped off my lady's upper lip into the path of her exhaling breath.

Her pleasure was so great, her breathing was so rapid, it blew the drop of sweat up to an altitude of 3500 feet above ground level!

You didn't pull my speech cord. My wife simply describes it as having a big mouth and don't know when to quit.

Besides, there's something all right about a guy who includes apples in the barbeque. By all means--my mouth is drooling--let me know how your meal turns out.

Good weekend.

Hey it was great. It's very simple:

Cut the apples in half and scoop the core out.

Squeeze some lemon juice over the apples.

Put some brown sugar over the apples (I put a nice mound on mine).

Put them on the grill, cut side up.

You want to try to smoke them, not cook them over direct heat. Once the brown sugar is liquefied their done. I took the peel off, diced them, and that's it. We had ours with vanilla bean ice cream. Delicious. I guess you could add cinnamon or whatever else you'd like before you grill them.

One might research the topic and phenomena before making brash statements.

There are other possibilities than the one you seem to have compulsively siezed on with a death grip.

It may be an artifact of the propulsion system which is known to do tricky things with light, highlights, colors etc.

hmmmm...

I'd have to suppose that the only possible logical explanation would be line up markers but that is hard for me to swallow.

Major UFO Breakthrough in Brazil
22-May-2005

AJ Gevaerd and Brazilian Air Force Official
The nation of Brazil is relaxing its policy of UFO secrecy. It is the first among a number of countries known to be considering the idea of abandoning the secrecy mandate that has been in place worldwide since the phenomenon first began to be publicly known nearly fifty years ago.

A.J. Gevaerd of the Brazilian Committee of UFO Researchers reports that a number of important files have just been released, including a folder containing documents from 1977 that cover dozens of cases of UFOs in the Amazon with over 100 pictures made during Operation Saucer, an official Brazilian military investigation that was carried out between September and December, 1977.

This change in policy means that one of the countries with the most extensive amount of UFO activity is now going to share its previously secret knowledge with the public. To read Mr. Gevaerd's statement, click on full story.

It's one of those super high bouncing rubber balls.

I have bounced them that high before.

Judging from the objets on the ground, I don't think the things are as high as 20,000 feet, more like half of that, max. Considering tht the satellite is way up there, I'd have thought the depth of field would be shallow enough to keep everything in focus.

This is interesting, thanks for the ping. I've looked up sites of relatives homes in other cities on the Google map and have enjoyed using it.

I never though about an airplane or something else flying over when they 'take' the images!

Hello, the object needs to be higher than that. Mt. Everest is imaged by this and similar satellites and it is in focus (at 30,000 feet). So are clouds. The object cant be moving too fast since the color and black and white bands are pretty well registered. Moving cars and things like that get miss-registered. To judge the size simply count the pixels across. Commercial spy satellites (Quickbird and IKONOS) both image at around one meter (one pixel = one meter). Digital globes satellite (Quickbird) does just a bit better. Zoom in all the way in the viewer any you should be looking at one meter resolution. Given that the image is lit from the wrong side - and that it has to be very high and stationary to look the way it does in the image it must have been added later.

Yes, just a few weeks ago I loaded google.earth.com, and I was looking Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village in Dearborn Michigan, I caught what I believe to be a Northwest Airlines jet (MD80? engines are near the tail) headed to the Detroit airport. The red bodied jet appears just North of the Ford Proving grounds in Dearborn, about to cross Michigan avenue, heading Southwest.

I just checked google satellite image maps, the same photo appears, but the maximum view doesn't show the jet as large as google.earth does, you can zoom in to about 800 foot "eye view" on google.earth and see the jet very clearly, to zoom in any more than that the photo pixels distort the view. (FYI: you need high speed connection to use google.earth.)

For those of you that have google.earth, the coordinates for the Northwest Airlines jet on Google.Earth;
42deg 18min 51.25sec N x 83deg 12min 23.69sec W
