All for naught? spell check agreed but it did not look right on the original post. My bad.
To: King Prout
Hmmmmmmmmmmm...maybe fix his teeth as well? After all, he did claim to be English and an officer. LOL

Yep. Nodding in agreement.

Oh, foolish grasshopper. You do not yet appreciate the ways of Ti Kwon Zot.
Gaze upon the likeness of your spiritual leader and ponder upon the dusty remains of your lightning-struck charred ass as we laugh and point at your DU-inspired asininity.
Ohmmmm-HA-HA-HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

the troll might well have been English.
Despite the several misspellings, the cadence of the screed is atypical of Trollus Americanus DUmmiensis

He didn't reference what nor whom he was replying to and NO Englishman, especially of the officer class, would do that, Neither did his written English have a Brit syntax.
His writing was better than most trolls,his spelling was superior to them as well; however, it was still "SERIAL CALLER" stuff and NOT credible.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh, I see, the thread had to be made kosher, so the Jewish Viking Kitties and members of RKBA could feed. :-) "
You've both got it. This way, FR Zot threads are highly nutritious, instructive, equal opportunity roadkill feasts, truly an 'ecumenical' and 'spiritual' experience for ALL true Americans ....

I think he was replying to Kristinn. But, no link. I dunno.
To: King Prout
No, I disagree with you. It was NOT English English at all. Read MadIvan's posts.
I tend to sometimes write and spell more like a Brit than an American ( I'm very susceptible to what I read and hear and then, unconsciously copy it and I read far more books written by English people, than Americans; always have done. ) and this screed had NO English overtones whatsoever.

I had thought I checked very carefully for any iteration of words with clear Anglo-American variants (colour/color, defence/defense, etc...) and found none.
do you see any such?

I put it to you all that the enemy takes comfort not from the words of a disillusioned former combatant; but more from the fact that a belligerant and misgiuded fool sits in the world's seat of power. Congradulations. That is the single stupidest quote ever by any troll on any forum I've ever been on. Bush brings the terrorists comfort. Humph. The only honorable thing for you to do now is die.

Agree.
It is like Cary Grant doing a British accent.
Also the thing sounds wrong, not a combat soldier writing this thing. The concatenation of Lefty cliches, the holding the dying squadie's hand while taking cover in the ditch while the lad calls for his mother. Oh, please.
Fantasy.

I checked as well and he used no such words. But his syntax was NOT British at all and neither was there even a hint of anything English in the post.
Heck, he could have and probably would have called Cindy's squatting place a "hedgerow", were he really an Englishman. See my point? That IS what a Brit would call that off-road place; yet he never did .
To: King Prout
Ah ha...I caught one! He spelled "naught" nought; which is the English of ZERO ! No Brit would use that spelling for NAUGHT !
To: Iris7
Cary Grant WAS a Brit and had an English accent; he never put one on...just made it tad more "plummy" than the Cockney one he originally had.
To: nopardons
do you believe Englishmen are any less prone to poor word use and typos than are we Americans?
besides...
naught = "nothing"
nought = "zero"
both are archaic and, according to the OED, they are interchangeable.
