What Is Up With Free Republic Dissing Mitt Romney??
Free REpublic | 11/27/2009 | Vanity

Posted on 11/27/2009 8:30:40 PM PST by Noob1999

Why is every single thread that I log onto this day after Thanksgiving, have a picture of Mitt Romney, that then trashes him??

Does JimRob and this website condone the Palin trashers, and try to create a Mitt backlash, to trash him?

Does this website wish to promote a Republican/Conservative candidate who has no real business experience, like our current loser-in-chief, Zer0?

Mitt has problems, as do each and every Pubbie, Conservative, or RAT potential to lead this once great US!

Back off on the hits to Romney, (or maybe do you see him as a threat, much like the RATs see Palin as a threat??)

I'm getting ready to go to bed and did not need that picture in my mind.

I guess you didn't notice this story at the top of Breaking News...

Poll: Romney’s Favorables Among Republicans Drop Below 50 Percent
Washington Independent ^ | 11/24/09 | David Weigel

Posted on Friday, November 27, 2009 3:27:00 PM by Leisler

This is a surprising result from Public Policy Polling, the occasionally partisan group which nonetheless called the New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial races accurately. Mitt Romney’s favorable rating among Republican voters has fallen to 48 percent–a plurality, but a weak one. And the trend lines are even more interesting. Since April, when PPP started asking the question, Sarah Palin’s favorable number has moved from 76 percent to 75 percent; Mike Huckabee’s has moved from 67 percent to 65 percent. Romney, alone, has seen a statistically significant drop from 60 percent down to 48.

The results are so strange that PPP’s Tom Jensen doesn’t have a theory. One possible explanation, though, is how health care has dominated the national political debate since early summer. It the spring, Romney bounced as high as 67 percent. The summer and fall have taken a toll on him. As Andy Barr astutely pointed out in September, Romney has been hamstrung by his health care record. As governor of Massachusetts, he compromised with Democrats and signed a mandate-driven health care bill, and ever since then Republicans have used that against him.

Inside the beltway, Romney is seen as a classic front-runner who’s picked his issues wisely–he’s four months away from publishing a book on “American greatness”–and retained smart campaign staffers. But Huckabee is leading the field in national and Iowa polls, and Palin clearly has the biggest following of any possible 2012 candidate.

Shaddap you, or I’ll write your name down as my choice for president when we get stuck with a ‘compromise’ candidate. *grin* Oh, alright, I’m sorry for you having the ability to picture such a thing.

I will support (campaign for, contribute to, vote for) the candidate that best represents my views and has proven that they can ably promote those views. I can’t change reality, I can only vote for the candidates on the ballot that I think most closely represent my views.

I am not a “supporter” of Romni but did vote for him in the primary because I felt he was the best of a weak group. I was originally interested in Huchabee but the more I saw of him the more he troubled me. Thompson had a lot of supporters here and his views did more closely represent mine but his lack of executive experience and his complete collapse during “Chinagate” made me doubt that he was up to the job.

Sarah Palin has to demonstrate that she is up to the job (her resigning didn’t help), if she thinks she’s had it tough so far will she stand up to what President Bush did for eight years.

RomneyCare. That’s the only thing that needs to be said.

Exactly! You wonder - why’s this retread pushing so hard?
And for a candidate who is opposite of what this site stands for. It’s past zot time, IMO.

I'm figuring he or she is either being paid by the Romney people to foment doubt and confusion, or he or she is actually a RAT out to foment doubt and confusion, or he or she likes stirring things up, which I must admit, I do from time to time.

But, when I do it, I actually put forth arguments to back up my stirring.

The future of our country is not about abortion, gun rights, free speech, conservatives vs progressives!

It’s about evil socialism versus capitalism.

I couldn't disagree more. The 2nd amendment, ie "gun rights", is about the only buttress we have left against losing what remains of our freedom.

Why should we trade away every other conservative issue to get a candidate who is slightly less socialist than obama?

The best you can say about Mitt is that he's an incredible executive? Are you sure your not from DU?

This has been an interesting evening for me!

After I’ve been on these boards for more than 10 years - under a different addy, aShepard - I am now better understanding how the fissure between the conservative side of the realm, and the liberal side.

The liberal side had a 2008 choice of the female or the black guy - it probably made little difference what their idealogy was, but the union and the underdogs supported the black guy. No-one knew what the hopey/changy thing was all about, no one cared what he was all about, no liberals looked into his radical muslim background, he was the anti-Bush!

He Won!

Tonight, having experienced the “noobie revenge,” a couple of kitties, I truly see the fissure within our Conservative/Pubbie party(s).

We all have this loathing for the “RINO’s”; the pro-choicers; the anti-gunners; the health carists; the big governmentists; the whatever issueists.

But we are not coherent. We all go off on our own key issue.

Me, my key issue is to get this disaster of a president, and the Rat movers out of congress. If that means that RINO’s move in, so be it. Just change the current balance of power.

If each of us wants to change government to mirror an individual cause, or selected causes, we’re doomed.
Remember that only about 55% of us pay income taxes, so the rest will vote to increase their take: the deck is already stacked against capitalist reform.

Go over to DU, or any other RAT website. Most of the discussion is centered about the F@@kin repubs, not about dissention within their ranks. They all drink the same kool-aid.

We will have a difficult time ferreting out the RATs, unless we tone down our internal squabbles to present a more united political front.

My point of my post about FR bashing Romney at this stage of the fight, was not to promote him, but to quell the internal invective within our ranks!

Thanks for the experience!

Why is playing Mitt Romney using his own words considered "dissing" him?

Sounds a lot like the complaints Obamatons used when we exposed him using his own words.

Do you not think the RATS have access to these videos?

Do you not think they would use them against Romney AFTER they get him nominated?

His experience dwarfed the man who eventually won the White House, but be that as it may, I'm only voting for those who represent my views, primary or general. If that means that a 100% liberal gets into office instead of a 75% liberal, then I'll accept full responsibility for no candidate bothering to run on a platform I could vote for. My vote is no longer free.

freepers have always been hard on anybody but someone who thinks exactly like they do....no ifs, ands or butts...

this is why we have bama as dictator....

we could have had a sensible liberal/conservative who at least loved America, and instead we have what we have.....a liberal/leftist/communist who hates America...

lets see now....a liberal/conservative who loves America and would protect it OR a liberal/leftist/communist who hates America...gee, I don' know....such a choice...

I imagine a world where Fred or Rudy of even Mitt was our prez.....we sure wouldn't be having trials for terrorist in NYC or jailing Navy Seals and even Mitt wouldn't have had this zillion dollar bailout....

Well, personally I’ve ruled out Romney as you can see...

It’s 3 years away, there’s still time for things to shake out. Last year I liked Fred Thompson, but he didn’t seem to have the energy to get into full campaign mode.

At this point, out of the would-be front runners I like Palin best. She strikes me as a person of character and integrity. She seems to share conservative values on all the major issues.

I think it’s unfortunate she didn’t finish her term as governor; I think it would have seasoned her and given her time to flesh out her credentials, but that was her decision to make.

Just what I'm thinking - moreso, when most are in agreement and back it up w/heavy duty stuff that there's no denying it's true! But still keeps pushing - paid hack, IMO. And shouldn't be allowed.
