The cave of bones: A story of solenodon survival

Conservationists are in the Dominican Republic attempting to save one of the world's most strange and ancient mammals - the Hispaniolan solenodon.

While trying to track down one of these creatures, The Last Survivors team is also trying to find out exactly how this animal has been able to survive for a remarkable 76 million years.

THANK YOU!! That was exactly what I thought when I saw it. Just a dang possum. I just wish they were endangered around here in Muddysippi. Darned things can really mess up your alignment. Solid little suckers when you hit one with the car tire.

I just wish they were endangered around here in Muddysippi.

I don't know if you are in a city or suburbs or country......I live in the highly populated suburbs about 12 miles east of Detroit and believe you me, between the possums and coons, neither one of those damn varmints have learned how to cross roads.

I have a live trap and over the last few years have caught countless possums and several coons that always end up in my subdivision........

You're right tho, those possums are like logs with legs..........
