Ok I know what one can't eat on the 5 days prior to a colonoscopy.
What are some meals we can eat?
How about compiling a list/thread of can chow down on foods/meal for the week prior?
White Bread/Turkey/Mayo is one I can dig.
Broiled White fish w/lemon and smoked salt
If you care to and are a pro at the colon pre week diet mode please list some ideas other than the usual suggestions.
We all now what we can't have the week prior seeds/leafy veggies/celery/fruit (basically things with peels or seeds) red/purple/orange dyes.
And the need to be very hydrated (diet 7up is my choice).
Gatorade clear the colored stuff has the no/no dyes.
BTW this is my 3rd procedure and I am normally a veg/seed diet person so last time I ate too much meat stuff prior and got really ill.
Thanks ahead of time.
LOL He called me a perfect A Hole last time too.
Which in this venue is a good thing.
A contract worker we use just had it done with the same specialist I use and jokingly I ask her if sharing the hose considered the same as sharing the same man.
If you are a seed person, hope you don’t have diverticulitis. Good luck. I am not a proponent of lots of fasting, don’t think the human body was designed for it, but to each his/her own.
I woke up during the last one and started swinging and swatting at everything/one on the backside.
I was out for mine, but they gave me pictures. I don’t think I would care if I was awake, and might like to watch it on video. I don’t think I want to FEEL it tho! LOL I had a barium done years ago, not very pleasant!
Mine had an icky salty taste. Almost like sea water.
Best of luck with your next one you perfect a.....hole!
I’d ask why the 5 day special diet for you and no one else. Maybe ‘cause you are special? ;)
LOL!!!
Well I will probably sooner than later- been a few years since I have had one.
As a medical careprovider I have some awesome resources for that issue.
And instead of toilet tissue I have special wipes on hand too.
You know, not long ago I mentioned hunger pains to my husband and he looked at me like I was crazy. My stomach literally HURTS if I don’t eat. I started asking people and some people know what I mean and others say no, they don’t. So, clearly, not everyone feels the same if they don’t eat.
FR just lost a long time Freeper to colon cancer and one of his last posts was to encourage all to not put off their routine colonoscopy. (50yrs or earlier depending on that individuals history/health)
Sounds like you have everything under control, then. Let me be the next to say that I hope everything comes out OK.
I will assume you were being sarc.
The pics are of an area of internal organ.
IIRC the scarred area of an old diverculi that was once infected (hence changed my diet and lifestyle stresses 15yrs ago to cure gut issues) looks like a burn mark open blister.
Seeds don’t bother me.
Matter of fact all those old rules about seeds ect are going to be changes and new diet guidelines are coming out.
My diverticulitus was from a heavy fat/meat and processed food diet.
Changed that 15yrs ago and healed all my gut problems.
But that is my body.
What is good for the goose....
Ive had a doctor comment on how nice and clean my insides were..
Apparantly some are not some nice ...
And Ive had good reports too
:)

Eat a big bowl of chili with a side of kimchi the night before. That should do it.
Five days prior? The dozen or so scopes I’ve had the “pleasure” of going through required only a reasonably light diet the day preceding and nothing after midnight on the day of the exam. By the way, enjoy that delicious GoLytely. Whoever named the stuff has one HELL of a sense of humor!
Yeah, like I discovered I could control all of my reflux by avoiding wheat. Pays to know your body. :)
Five DAYS? I only had a diet restriction for about 24 hrs., and that was the ‘clear liquid’ thing. Not that onerous, and even the ‘clean out’ wasn’t that bad. If you think about the liquid going down as flavored whole milk, the viscosity isn’t as hard to take. ;o)
