This is what you might call a close shave. Quite an amazing video that must have been taken from a surveillance camera. A man is walking down the street when a car comes into view almost nailing the guy when it hits the wall and then careens off down the road. Then the driver gets out of the car and runs off leaving the car in the, middle of the road. The pedestrian is OK because of his quick reaction to getting out of the way. Amazing footage.

The car actually did hit the pedestrian on his foot or ankle, and he was limping away as the driver fled. That was weird.

I just looked at the video again. It seems like the guy may have hit another car and was already damaged.ch.
Good catch.

I don’t walk in the street so don’t drive on the sidewalk!

The kid was hit in the ankle by shrapnel from the front bumper and plastic splash shield that exploded from hitting something just before the vehicle came into frame. It looked like the driver, running back in the direction he came from, intended to confront whatever made him lose control of the car.
Predestination? ... Or the very offer of grace?

I think you are correct.
He definitely hit something or someone just before he came into view. Thus the damage on the front right of his car when the front left hit the wall.

I agree with you. He seemed to twisted his ankle getting out of the way, or as you said stepped on some debris.
