(History changed by act of mercy?) How a four-year-old Adolf Hitler was saved from certain death ...

Revealed: The priest who changed the course of history ... by rescuing a drowning four-year-old Hitler from death in an icy river

* Future Fuhrer was plucked from certain death by boy who grew up to join the church

* German newspaper from 1894 reveals incident

It may be the most devastating act of mercy in history. A newspaper report chronicling how a boy of four was saved from drowning has surfaced in a German archive. The child – who historians believe could have been Adolf Hitler – was plucked from the icy waters of the River Inn in Passau, Germany, in January 1894.

According to Max Tremmel, a priest who went on to become one of Europe's most famous organists, his predecessor Johann Kuehberger had rescued the terrified Hitler. Father Tremmel told before his death in 1980 how Father Kuehberger, around the same age as Hitler, had seen the other boy struggling in the waters of the River Inn and dived in to rescue him.

The story was never verified by Hitler during his lifetime. But now a small cutting from the Donauzeitung - Danube newspaper - of 1894 has been found in Passau.

It describes how a 'young fellow' fell through the thin ice of the river in January of that year. The report described how a 'determined comrade' - the paper at the time was left-wing - went into the freezing water to save the child who would grow into mankind's biggest monster.

The near-drowning episode also featured in a German book called 'Out of Passau- Leaving a City Hitler Called Home,' by Anna Elisabeth Rosmus, a personal history of her family's connections with it.

She wrote; 'The banks of the River Inn provided an idyllic setting for the children to play.

Soros can still think for himself and he still has free will. He let that demon in and I agree that at some point he gave “Schwartz” up and became Soros and the rest is history. We are all born with innate talents given by God, but sometimes God gives a huge amount to people and He wants them to do good, but unfortunately the Devil knows about them as well and tries to corrupt them.

Tough stuff to wrap our (my) simple minds around.

To start with, I believe that God (I AM THAT I AM) exists seated across all time seeing it simultaneously; you and I see it revealed bit by bit on a continuum. He sees what we will do, even before we have exercised our free will. That HE knows (foreknowledge) and sees results (foreordination, prophecy, etc.) does not take from us our free will in the moment.

That said, had Pharoah tripped and broke his neck, the Israelites would still have gone into bondage, IMHO. Things that have to happen on this planet to fulfill God’s word will happen, one way or another.

Like I said- hard to wrap one’s mind around...

God Bless!

I think that there are a dozen different things that end up being where we end up. For example, if Nicholas II of Russia had been smart and granted a Duma and constitution and ended up no longer being an autocrat, revolution would have been thwarted and Communism very possibly avoided. Then Stalin would have possibly become a decorated general in the Tsarist military and ended up being a key fighter against the Nazis in WWII while Lenin would have been a university professor teaching something other than the finer academic points of a genocidal philosophy.

But then, if he had not married Alix of Hesse, who became Empress Alexandra, who ended up giving birht to a hemophiliac son, relying on Rasputin who encouraged Alexandra to push her husband against granting a constitutional form of government, well, maybe there would have been a different outcome.

It’s all a matter (I think) of whether or not there is a disturbance in the natural flow of things. If the German government had taken the overthrow seriously, then Hitler would have been shot and then the Nazi party, as a real legitimate politicial movement would have been thwarted. Hitler was a driving force behind the Nazis, without him there would have been nothing and the monsters would have remained in the backrooms of beer halls or the basements of ratty shacks in the middle of nowhere.

Like Judas Iscariot it might be better that he had not been born.

I work in a penitentiary and a good many criminals had horrible childhoods; at some point it is no longer an excuse before God, IMHO.

Yes, I have seen it; they become an alternate version of what they could have been.

There but for the grace of God go you and I.

Which is why I really, really cannot gloat overmuch about a lot of stuff. If you read his biography, a real good one, it describes how Hitler was abused and that is something that few people want to really acknowledge.

The doctor who treated Hitler’s mother for cancer was Jewish. And even though she died, Hitler was grateful to him. Hitler made sure the doctor got out in the 30s [as did Goering for the two Jewish sisters who hid him when he was seriously wounded during te Beer Hall Putsch].

If Hitler had never lived. the German Workers’ Party would have achieved bupkus. Eckart and Drexler were a couple of yo-yos [especially Drexler]. Hitler MADE the Party

Would the USA still stand if it had been Carter in 1980?

Hitler also survived a dozen horrendous battles during WWI - his unit was all but wiped out several times, yet he received only minor injuries and was even awarded a medal for his devotion to duty - makes ya wonder......

The area around Dunkirk was one big tank trap, Hitler didn’t want to lose his tanks. He’d have killed everyone at Dunkirk given the chance.

Didn’t Hitler grew up in Austria?

Also please correct me but wasn’t Saddam Hussein rescued by Jewish people who made his mother change her mind about aborting him?

All these what ifs. I guess things happen for reason and only God who has given us free will knows.

Wiemar was really, really weak. Germany went Nazi in reaction to Russia going communist.

I did quite a bit of research into Peter Stolypin. Did a paper on him. Had the revolution not occurred, Russia would have become a constitutional monarchy on par with the UK. Much of the suffering of the 20th century would have been avoided.

I have ot agree with you in that regards.

The problem was mainly Alexandra. She relied on Rasputin and if Nicholas had given away, then the Duma probably would have gotten rid of Rasputin and quite frankly she would have been in terror of her hemophiliac son ending up dying because Rasputin wasn’t there ot heal him. She never let the public know and she was really antisocial and didn’t mingle with anyone in society, so no one was really able to understand, much less reach out. AS a result of all her problems, she fought against the monarchy becoming a constitutional one and therefore ended up fight to keep the autocracy going.

No, the problem was that Russia had an 18th century agriculture system. Stolypin was crucial. Year after year, he doubled productivity in just 6 years.

If Stolypin had lived, they would have transitioned into a modern agricultural system. Communism would have been irrelevant because the major land reform would have already occurred.

After he died, the reforms lost their impetus and were buried in the catastrophe of the first world war.

When the land reform didn’t happen, the Commies came to power, and overhauled the system badly - putting Russia behind for the remainder of the next two decades. It wasn’t until Stalin came to power that they would even start to approach what they did in the pre-Commie years.
