LAFAYETTE, Colo. (AP) -- Police in Lafayette, Colo., have ticketed a man who is accused of tying his cat to a rock after the feline refused to go jogging.
Sgt. Fred Palmer says 19-year-old Seth Franco brought his cat on a leash to the path around Waneka Lake Park on Wednesday, but the cat was unable to keep up.

That guy needs a pet dog-not a cat! What a dumbass...
One of my four cats-a 20+ lb. mostly-Maine Coon-will walk on a little harness and leash, but only for about 50 ft-after that, he throws himself on the floor/ground and won’t budge.

"What if the cat drove?"
That's probably why he didn't put the cat in the car before finishing his jog.

putting a cat on a leash and going for a walk is otherwise known as trolling for dogs

Well, there is always the
"catio" option.

Tried the catio idea, he wants to be able to run (on his own) and I do mean run. He has a 27’ retractable leash with a 6’ standard leash connected to it, and that seems to be long enough for him usually.

The pattern on *your* video cat's back is amazing...it looks like a moving shadow of another cat!

He should have went jogging with his pet goldfish instead. He could have put it right in his water bottle.

My current cat doesn’t care for people food. Now my first cat could hear me pull the ring top off a can, and she was on another floor of the house. I would be in the kitchen and I could barely hear it.
One day I was opening a can of pineapple. She stood there crying until I offered her a chunk. She sniffed it, gave me this looik like I was trying to poison her and left in a huff. I thought that would cure her of responding every time I open a can, but no.

How can an owner jog when the cat is doing figure-8s around the owner's legs? You can't even walk with mine.
I bet Seth would have better luck if he tape recorded the sound of a can opener and looped it for rebroadcast on the jog...and rubbed tuna salad all over himself.
