Creationists go nuts over Cosmos, demand "equal time"

You've probably heard that Cosmos, the new version starring Neil deGrasse Tyson, is causing waves because it's on FOX, and it actually talks about (gasp!) evolution. But this week, Christians upped the ante on crazy by demanding "equal time" for creationists. You know, because they need things to be "balanced." In his typically incisive style, deGrasse explained one reason why that's a silly idea. “You don’t talk about the spherical Earth with NASA, and then say let’s give equal time to the flat Earthers..."

Neil deGrasse Tyson is a typical biased leftist — he doesn’t have the wit to see that he is biased.

At every turn, I am bombarded by Lib demands that every single viewpoint is of equal value, and I am not to judge. Just once, I would like to see that kind of tolerance from the Libs.

Why? It’s a TV show. It’s not the government. Want equal time, make your own show. I’ll watch.

for a guy whose global warming fakers have thrown the “consensus” word about fake and doctored science,

HE is not in the world populations’ consensus about an intelligent Creator being existing.

or will he now say consensus’ can be wrong...? will he examine global warming cultists with the same critical eye?

friggin ass.

It’s the lib mantra: “What I believe in must be mandatory”

I’d never even heard of Tyson prior to this, and thus far I’m not impressed. Seems like another Seth MacFarlane butt-buddy with an axe to grind.

Neil Tyson may not believe in the Almighty, but he certainly believes in affirmative action.

Like his hero Richard Dawkins, his credentials as a leftist loudmouth are much more impressive than his academic attainments.

With the liberal corollary:

If a conservative doesn’t like something, he doesn’t do it.
If a liberal doesn’t like something, nobody can do it.

Dawkins doesn’t even warrant being mentioned. Best to treat him like the irrelevant old coot he has become. Now, if the Muzzies in Britain want to go a little wild again....

I don’t believe the science presented by Cosmos is that inconsistent with God creating the universe and life. God uses the big bang to create the universe. He creates and evolves the earth as a home that will support life. And, He creates life that will evolve.

Let’s see how long this turkey lasts on Fox. Like there isn’t enough evolution in America.

Pray America wakes up

From what I understand, it’s a ratings disaster.

Tyson is often on and is very good as a narrator on NOVA.

Yes he is. He’s good in small doses like on other space-related documentaries. But he’s starting to believe his own press.

If they were to do a “pure” science show. No commentary, with some cool visuals that’d be pretty cool. But they can’t help themselves.

The "equal time" demand is ridiculous when addressed to a private entity. Reeks of the "fairness" doctrine. However, the guy can't be very smart or he'd come up with a better analogy than arguing about the earth being round. You can prove the earth is round, not so for evolution.

If he's trying to sneakily equate Christians with flat-earthers, he has another think coming. The Bible referred to a round earth millennia before humans figured it out:

"It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in." -- Isaiah 40:22, American Standard

Why should adherents of the fringe religion of creationism be given “equal time” in a science show? If anything, shouldn’t they be demanding time on a religious show?
