Does anyone know what the state legislature's role is in all of this? The court system in Fl. is out of control. The state legislature needs to make another law to protect Terri.

She was bolused with D5W, so her blood sugar will be elevated. That is about right after rapid infusion. Elevated blood sugar at that level will not O2 deprive and cause severe brain damage.
Matter of fact, I have admitted folks with blood sugars 700-800. They are alert, aware and walk.

Something that came up on another board I post on and maybe you can shed some light for me. Someone brought up Flagyl and the fact that they gave it to her while she was on Dilantin. Could that cause any adverse reactions since, from what I'm told, you're not to use one with the other?

According to the Atty, McCabe DOES have the authority to investigate. I sent a critical email to him, along with Rice, JEB and others (CC) so they would all know McCabe has been running from his duties, and passing the buck.
No wonder nothing was ever investigated. They can't figure out their job descriptions..........

Dilantin is used in some heart conditions and to prevent seizures. I have given Flagyl and dilantin to same pts. Not at same times, but no adverse reactions.

I met & talked with the Schindlers at the vigil. They were all so doggone unbelievably NICE in spite of the fact that Terri was on days 4 & 5 of starvation! A normal person would feel fortunate to be part of their family. Who couldn't get along with them? H'mmm...

So I believe that Michael is motivated in part by jealousy -- evil unable to coexist with good. He gets a perverse pleasure out of punishing her family, and us. Reminds me of a kid pulling the wings off of flies.

following up on my last post, I understand he killed them before moving in w/jodi. I do not imagine he offered them to Terri's family or friends before killing them, though they did -- as Orlando said above -- serve as a precious link to Terri.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Multnomah County judge has rejected a request that doctors restart life support for Douglas Schmidt, a Portland man who slipped into a coma last March when his state-paid anti-seizure medication ran out.

As Schmidt hovered near death Monday, his sister broke ranks with other family members and sought a court order to reconnect a ventilator that had been switched off Sunday.

Circuit Judge Katherine Tennyson rejected the request for a restraining order.

"I see no reason to change the decision that has been made," she said.

I like the banner idea also. I don't know how much it cost but I was at the capital in Austin protesting when the Dims fled to NM and someone kept circling with a banner of "Heros don't run away" It was very effective. A" happy birthday Terri" over the city would be cool too. Whatever we plan though I think should be done thru freep mail so it's a surprise.
