We have had several prayer requests recently. This post includes some updates that I have received.
On 1/19/04
Blackdog requests prayer for his wife involved in a car accident. She is in Astoria Oregon and is due to be returning home on the 25th. His original post follows:
My wife traveled to Seattle last week after Portland was closed due to ice. She was then driving down from Seattle in a rental car.
There was an accident on the side of a four laner on some mountain pass and she slowed down to avoid emergency vehicles. Someone going too fast hit her from behind and pushed her into oncoming traffic consisting of an eighteen wheeler tanker truck which crushed her car. She had to cut her out of the wreckage.
She is very sore and now in Portland, terrified to drive anywhere. Some town called Astoria? She comes home on the 25th.

MamaB requests prayer for the loss of her daughter.
MamaB notified a friend through FReepmail that she lost her daughter Jan on Thursday evening, January 15. Jan has suffered from Crohn's disease and other illnesses for some time but this evening she started having seizures and had a heart attack. Jan was about 25 years old and has been ill since she was 18 or 19.
I received an update via FReepmail:
Hi,
The only thing I can add at this point is that I am still hearing about the many lives Jan touched. One choir member said tonight that at the funeral, she felt that Jan had been on a special mission and that it was completed. I have felt that way since she started getting so ill. Even people who do not attend a church have said how special the service was. Who knows what seeds were planted at the service? I also learned that a former singer with the choir from another church was found dead the other day and they think he had been that way for 3 or 4 days. Just imagine the music Jan and Terrence are making! It has been amazing how things are going on in our lives. Jan was an angel unaware for all of us and forevermore, we will have one at our house, church, etc. We can actually laugh at things we see on tv and stories we hear. Sure, there have been hours when I could just sit and cry, but I am not made that way. We had talked about starting a web site for Jan when she started getting so sick and we may still do that although the ending will be lots different. Crohn's is such an unknown disease and other families are hurting just as much as ours but there is not many people who will speak up. Maybe that can be Jan's mission or one of them.

My friend Wanda, wife of our AM Legion commander has been hospitalized with a stroke, would you add her to your prayer list. Both are good Christian people.
GailA also requests prayers for Col. Tony L. (Retired USAF). He is battling a brain tumor and is currently on Chemo.

I've had no up date on Wanda's condition. Col Tony is up and active but doesn't look well, but then chemo really knocks the wind out of your sails. He was in excellent condition before the brain tumor, he exercised regularly, watched his diet as he is diabetic. He's about 68.
Praise area: DK's job is going well (only 21 more months of probation), he likes it, our youngest just got a full time job, (it's not much of one but at least it's full time!) _______________________________________________________________________ WVNan requests prayer for Brenda, of Leon WV. She has been diagnosed with rapid spreading Breast Cancer.

Update: Brenda seems to be responding to chemo better this week. She is feeling better and not getting as sick. She has a long hard road ahead and she appreciates the continued prayers more than you know. Thank you everyone for your prayers. We have agreed in prayer that she will be healed in Jesus' Name.

King Vanity is still recuperating from bronchial infection complicated with asthma. A new issue has come up while in the hosp for IV antibiotics his liver levels are very high.
His doctor has sent a full blood panel for Hepatitis (all strains) A B C D E F G H I J etc...
My son has never had risky lifestyle behavior but has had two blood transfusions.
My prayer is that this high liver level heals with the prayer of all.
Irony being he has lived this long due to severe brain damage (24yrs) as a quadriplegic with a wonderful and gifted mind, we pray some stupid other ailment Hepatitis/liver malfunction is not the culprit against his good health.

He has a large mass on his lung and was due to have more tests done on Monday. Eternal Warming is experiencing severe distress and is also in need of prayers for strength.

I would be happy to give updates. In fact, we just heard from the Doctor and Norm's biopsy is scheduled for next Thursday morning at 7:30 am Pacific time. I was going to wait and post a prayer request on Wednesday.
I have to tell you that the prayers of all of you are sustaining us. I feel the peace and presence of the Lord. Please keep them coming. :0)
