Prayer Needed

My middle daughter who is 11 starts testing for Cushing's Syndrome on Friday. She is so young and it is such a big disease. I am kicking myself for not recognizing it earlier. I thought she had some sort of refractory issue with TypeII diabetes. I had been thinking of bringing her to a pediatric endocrinologist for the past year. But her sysmptoms were too vague. They have blossemed.

I need Freeper prayers. There are few more even tempered and pleasant children than my middler. Always eager to help, generous, and kind, she is the daughter I always have hoped would take me in when I am in my dotage. I am so frightened for her.

One thing that I need to know, I keep on reading how people find the top medico in a particualar speciality on the Internet. I have been searching all day for top Cushing Syndrome people. How are they found? Through research papers?

On another note, and as the parent of a child with a life-threatning disease I can assure you that there is support out there...and here for that matter. Perhaps I can pick up some info for you in Boston. I'm taking my son there to Children's Hospital to see some specialists. We'll fly there tomorrow and be at the hospital on Thursday. I'll see what information I can glean.

On another, more vital note...

Father, I come to You tonight on behalf of ml's lovely daughter. Lord, You formed this child and gave her a mother with a heart tender toward You. Touch this child now in Your own special way, Lord. We ask that Your will be done in her life. Keep this wonderful child close to Your heart. Touch her family as well, Lord, bless and comfort them. Give them wisdom and discernment. Bless each physician, nurse, and lab tech that participates in diagnoses and care. We'll most certainly give You all the glory, Lord, for You alone are worthy. Prayers on the way that you find the right doctor who will bring a correct diagnosis to your daughter's symptoms. Father, we ask that you watch over mlmr's daughter and guide mlmr to the correct doctor. Comfort them and bring a healing that only You are capable of. In Jesus Name we Pray. Amen

I don't know much about Cushings, but there was an article in one of the supermarket women's magazines about a woman who suffered with Cushings for years, visited many doctors and finally self diagnosed her problem and got help from an endocrinologist who specialized in Cushings(it was a positive article). I have heard that endocrinologists are not plentiful. You may have to travel, but keep searching and you will find the right doctor.
