Can't think of any that particularly impressed me, with the exception of a few quasi-conservatives. Who really knows how to shake up the rats?
Michael Medved.
He loves to take calls from those that dissagree so he can match debate talents.
Alan Keyes

Zip my mouth, never.
Help the pro-life movement, always.
Bork lost, because he made he sin of embarrassing the folks whose votes he needed, you're not going to find a better debater then that.
Unfortunatly, your also not going to find anyone more arrogant then that.
I DREAM of Alan Keyes standing in the well of the Senate telling Truth to Power. Unfortunately that will never happen. When I saw the title of the thread, the word Keyes popped instantly to mind.
I don't know why I never thought of this before but...
Dr. Fein, Dr. Howard, Dr. Fein...
Dr. Howard, Dr. Fein, Dr. Fein, Dr. Howard, Dr. Fein...
Dr. Fien, Dr. Howard, Dr. Fein...
You're not giving them any competition. Throw a Hurricane Katrina Vandenheuvel in there and then the gloves would come off. Vandenheuvel, Beckel, Carville, and Howard Dean. Then you'd have war.
Krauthammer, yes. Tell you what... put Krauthammer and Brit Hume together on a team and they'd take out anyone the left cared to offer up. Brilliant analysis, brilliant argument, and no one talks over them. Not unless they want to get cut off at the knees. I've seen Brit wait for Juan to finish and demolish him with "The Look", and one word. Balderdash.
Don't forget... several Liberals are masterdebaters as well...
Um. Sorry. Couldn't resist.
Presuming that you've recovered from the lightening strike after typing those words, William F. Buckley, Jr. is hands-down the best convservative debater. I am fortunate enough to have taped several of the "Firing Line Debates", and there was never a moment that he wasn't kicking ass and taking names. His charm and humor, on top of his ability to articulate conservative principles, gives him a huge edge over Gingrich and Horowitz. Limbaugh is obviously good, but Buckley is smarter and wittier in making his points.
LOL.
Was that Buckley's position or was he just arguing that side of the issue? Hard to imagine that he was on Carter's side on any issue. I could probably make Buckley look bad on that issue, given the weakness of the arguments in favor of giving it up.
Even if that was Buckley's position, we all have our bad days. Not saying that Reagan would be a poor alternative, just that Buckley is better.
How on earth has GEORGE WILL not yet appeared on this list?
I love his patience. He sits with perfect poker face while the hapless lib rhetorically meanders about like a fly buzzing by the spiders web. One begins to think that he is accepting the logic. When the hole is deeply enough dug, he calmly decimates every last scrap of the fallacious tedium and constructs a steel framed work of logical beauty to replace it.
How often have you seen his unworthy opponents just wither before him?
Rush is not a debator. He is an entertainer, which is why he rarely if ever invites a seasoned liberal debator on his show.
That was Buckley's position. He agreed with Carter in giving up control of the Panama Canal. People underestimate Reagan's depth of knowledge on issues. How does a governor with many other things to worry about, outclass Buckley on such on issue? I would take Reagan any day.
