I received this from former freeper donnalyn. It came from JudyB1938 son Victor:
Last Friday mom went in for a routine heart catherization for clogged arteries. The doctor, in his infinite wisdom, decided that she had to have an immediate triple bypass. She recovered, as expected, the next day. Then, on Monday, she has fluid build up around the heart and coded. Her brain was deprived of oxygen for too long and she is now effectively brain dead. She will be taken off of life support tomorrow.
Judy B lasted posted on 4/25/06 and on 4/21/06 actually posted on Heart Disease the focus shifts to women. You can see her posts here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/user-posts?id=20872.
Heartfelt Prayers extended for dear JudyB1938 on the Earthquake Ping List.
We need spare no grief for Judy but for her family. She will be in a place the rest of us can only hope for. We weep for her family left behind. May God bless them.
Jhn 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
May she rest in peace in God's loving arms. May God bless her family and loved ones and help them in their time of great loss.
God my Father, let Judy feel Your Arms about her. Let her children hear Your Voice. As we join together in prayer, God and People, let our chorus enter her heart, and fill her soul with Your Love Eternal...
This is my prayer tonight - that Judy will be aware of the Love that surrounds her.
In Jesus name I pray it.
Prayers up for the whole family and all friends. Thy will be done, Lord Jesus.
How sad. Prayers lifted.
Prayers for JudyB1938....
Thanks for all of the comments and especially for all of the prayers of support and comfort me and siblings. Mom always thought very highly of each and every FReeper and this site provided a healthy outlet for her both spiritually and intellectually. This was so very unexpected. I emailed my sister, Dana, the MD, and told her that I was not worried about the "procedure" since it was so routine, just concerned. This is definitely a shock to everyone. I loved my mom so much and we clicked so very well. We shared alot in common and I truly liked her as a person and loved her as a mom. I'm glad that I provided her a tranquil environment in wilderness Arkansas for the last 3 years (exactly). She enjoyed it even though my brother did still alot of her joy. But she chose to make that sacrifice for my brother's sake since, to her, his welfare was more important than her own. Mom had diabetes but otherwise was pretty healthy. Here passing was so very unexpected. The chance of anything going wrong was so miniscule! Believe me, though, when mom looks full into the wonderful face of Jesus, the reigning King, she won't have any regrets!!! I'm just so very sorry that I didn't have a chance to talk to her one last time. I'm working graves and didn't have the chance to talk to her before the heart catherization and subsequent bypass and 1 day of cognizant recovery. I had asked my brother to have her call me on Saturday but I never did receive that phone call. This is what I will always regret. No goodbyes. :( This was my last email from her: "From : Judy Bartlett Sent : Friday, April 28, 2006 6:11 AM To : "Victor Easley" today, i go for heart cath and maybe stints if the arteries are plugged up. dr is also going to ultra sound my neck. I was sick yesterday and most of the night. I think maybe I have a urinary infection or something. I feel better now though. -- *** Bureaucracy is a giant with the brain size of a flea. -D. Robinson *** We have met the devil and he is Muslim. -FReeper Lawdoc *** " Just leaves too much unsaid. My last email to her told her twice that I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH. I'LL SAY IT AGAIN, I LOVE YOU MOM! There is no chance of recovery. She coded on May 2nd and was deprived of oxygen for too long. Whether there was negligence or not is really not relevant because the results remain the same. She was/is on the ventilator with some spontaneous breaths but, once she is removed (tonight or tomorrow), pray that she will not linger. This was NEVER her wishes. She will be cremated and desires to be placed on her Aunt Idella's grave in California along with her mother. Her mother was near true evil but, yet, still loved her to the extent that she made this request in her living will and desires to have two psalms read. There will be no funeral services which we all are in accord with. Thank you for each and every post. I read them all and can share in other's tragedies. Thanks for keeping this thread on track and keeping the trolls in check. Thank you for the friendship and support that you always gave her. May God give serenity to us all! Victor D. Easley
God bless you and your family JudyB.
Prayers for Judy and her family
Oh father in heaven who knows the heart of all your children, strengthen your daughter and the family... give them courage and strength for all they have to face. We know you are a just judge... and your ways are above our ways.
Amen.
May God welcome her home.
I am truly grieved right now. I have known Judy on-line now since the late 90's and although I talked with her on the phone a few times, I am really disappointed right now I never had a chance to meet her face to face.
No pinging the lists tonight or reading the news. I thought it important a face was put on the grand lady this thread is about. Too often the people we meet at Free Republic are just screen names on a monitor. At least I had a chance to talk to her.
Judy was the very person who recruited me to Free Republic. In fact, I still have her very first email to me saved on a zip disk. I saved all the years of correspondence she sent me since then.
The bulk of my personal website was due to her. She was always sending me and our small circle of friends interesting links and articles which from time to time proved to be invaluable. I can't remember the number of times she sent research material through on any subject I was dealing with at the time.
Other times, she would just send some nutty picture through that would come totally out of left field. The most recent one was a picture of this very heavy woman and a little poem about belly button rings. My Wife was looking over my shoulder and we just laughed out loud, it was so outrageous. I forwarded it to a few people and told them Judy sent it, with a "LOL!" She wrote back laughing, too.
But that was Judy. On-line her gracious, loving, and funny personality always overwhelmed you. I could spend days going through her old emails to me, consistently filled with encouragement and praise. I often called her my on-line Mom. She spent so much time on me.
All these pictures she sent to me over the years. I always liked the one of her in the front seat of the car making that face, I think she was around thirty in that one. I symbolizes everything about her personality and character. In the end, she was one of many older people I keep company with who hold that old school Conservative philosophy.
She maintained a website Here:

Some of the links might not work because there are errors in the HTML.
Although, yes, I am comforted she is in the presence of the Lord, it is still an incredible loss and sense of sadness. What a wonderful life. She was a great friend, patriot American, and truly a part of Free Republic history.

I hope her son knows our thoughts and prayers are with him. This has to be a very trying time, and I can't say I understand, for I have not experienced pain like that.
God be with him and comfort Judy.
Sorry to see you again under these circumstances.
