In unearthed letter urged President-elect Clinton to 'reform' country
A letter to Bill Clinton written by the co-counsel who successfully argued the Roe v. Wade decision urged the then-president-elect to "eliminate the barely educated, unhealthy and poor segment of our country" by liberalizing abortion laws. Ron Weddington, who with his wife Sarah Weddington represented "Jane Roe," sent the four-page letter to President Clinton's transition team before Clinton took office in January 1993.
The missive turned up in an exhibit put together by the watchdog legal group Judicial Watch, which has been researching the Clinton administration's policy on the abortion drug RU-486, notes James Taranto in the Wall Street Journal's Best of the Web.
Weddington qualified his statement, saying, "No, I'm not advocating some sort of mass extinction of these unfortunate people. Crime, drugs and disease are already doing that. The problem is that their numbers are not only replaced but increased by the birth of millions of babies to people who can't afford to have babies.
"There, I've said it. It's what we all know is true, but we only whisper it, because as liberals who believe in individual rights, we view any program which might treat the disadvantaged differently as discriminatory, mean-spirited and ... well ... Republican

Third: Thanks fer the stuff sent to me verifying the origin of the letter, and provenance of the intellect that espouses the trash therein.
I know all about the eugenics and history; the letter just seemed too convenient a morsel of "that which is known, but unspoken". And , in the wake of similar frauds, I was not convinced. Just too damaging to the cause...coming from such an one. Not smart at all. Very much more palatable to the masses couched in "choice" language. Far out of the playbook.
They took in millions and millions of dollars for Peter Paul's case and didn't spend it on him. Even Larry Klayman has now sued Tom Fitton. Even though JW has not been Peter's counsel for a considerable period of time, they still advertise his case to solicit money. Also, a very famous attorney was used on their advertisements after he specifically told them not to do that.
You don't need to. They cited their sources. Go look it up.
Up until fairly recently the defense of abortion followed lines of "helping the poor and minorities avoid babies they could not afford/that would keep them from an education/that would force them into dead end jobs/etc."
But if a poll were taken, it seemed most abortions were provided to middle class white women because 'the time wasn't right'.
(Usually meant the BMW wasn't paid off and there was a managers job opening)
The concept presented in the original post and in Weddington's letter at post 15 fits with the old argument. Now the "personal choice" coven seems to admit to that: maybe the movement saw the hypocrisy, maybe they realized that the welfare they also supported worked fine at assuring a continued lower class stayed in 'it's place', or maybe they just decided to admit it.
They were members of her Chosen few.
The more you look back the more we find our intuition was right. And as Rush says...these people can't really say what they believe or nobody would vote for them or allow them to be in a position of leadership.
I don't think Jesus.....would advocate the killing of innocent children for the sake of the living....because those that are living happen to be poor....just to have to type this is well.........
It is almost astonishing...but then you realize we were right about these people all along.

I have also been in your situation of defending Life to those who don't get the point. I have recently started sending them this website with a note to check out the RoeBots section especially. It causes a lot of angst for the Planned Parenthood set.
