Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I wonder how many thesis have been written on the sociology of message boards?

If I ever get serious about writing again ( doubtful, at best ) I would pen an essay about forums, boards, blogs with comments, and their denizens.

Specifically, the sub-boards that depend from them made of banned members, and how the most obnoxious get bumped on down the layers, from one to another...

...but that would be for a time, other than this.

Substantiate those claims with evidence. If you can then you would being enlightening me.

The evidence you seek is available, to the extent that such a thing is possible, from voting patterns.

Polls on your issues (abortion, border control, deportation, and gays) are misleading because responding to a poll doesn't cause anything to happen.

Our people are a kindly and generous tribe. They elect leaders to act on their behalf.

Twenty-seven years of electing Presidents rhetorically committed to ending abortion have yielded two (perhaps four) Supremes who would reverse Roe v. Wade. It has also given us Souter, Kennedy, and O'Connor. There are no Justices who would outlaw abortion as a violation of the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.

At the border, the wholesale breaking of laws bothers our people, for sure. But elect someone who would do something to Juan who cuts the grass or Maria who changes the diapers? Forget about it.

And as far as the gay crazies go, it's apparant that in that arena, our people have had enough, at least with regard to marriage. But "active tolerance" with civil unions and gay propaganda in schools appears overwhelmingly popular.

The People call the shots in this country. The House, in particular, and the state and local elections, tell you everything about what the People support, and don't support.

And the news is not good, as you know. But it's evidence that's as good as you're going to get.

Fatima, I was alarmed, hope you stick in here.

We may be surprised and disappointed that some here got the zot, but as we found out in our Terri Dailies, otherwise decent posters we thought were our friends, would unmask and skirmish with us behind the scenes. Then we would see them elsewhere and they were all smiles and conservative. It had been going on a long time and we would persevere, trying our best to behave as Our Lord would wish.

I don’t know the stories on all who got the zot or departed due to this, but for the ones I do know, it is a great relief that finally they were exposed for who they were in their hearts. For with those, others may have seen them as just fine as they wore their masks as conservatives, and we knew from painful experience what lurked in their hearts and it was not good.

I watched the outpouring of love for you here last night and it was like a miracle. The light is here for you, fatima. It lit up the thread, it lifted up all of us. Please stay.

“The only way Shrillary gets elected is if Republicans stupidly nominate Rudy, who will not win his home state.”

I’m not sure that’s true. Rudy is sure racking up a heck of a lot of HER states.

Flashbunny is one, IIRC. You could ask CharleswayneCT. I think he knows.

Gotta go to work, today. I hate to miss the fun and it’ll take forever to catch up. Let me know if anything interesting happens.

He wasn't posting much. He opused out 4/22, in a thread that had it's last previous post on 3/13 (a zotted thread, btw, don't know if that is a clue).

King Prout's Opus

You can read it, he was quite clear about his disdain for the site, and not just because of the last dust-up.

He then asked JR to delete his account, and his wish was granted.

I don’t know fatima, but I fully understand her sentiments. I’m with you, fatima, but don’t quit.

I hope the respect fatima has will cause people to reflect a bit on the tone of the last few days here, and maybe to realise civility is not bad, that President Bush mistook appeasement (of his political adversaries) for civility and turned people off to it.

What I like about Fred Thompson is that he is “civil”, but uncompromising; like his comment that “Speaker Pelosi is a hard person to embarass” (or something like that, can’t remember the exact quote).

Wow. A stark contrast to Rudy supporters who said Fred Thompson was unacceptable because he didn't "really want to be president bad enough".

Jim,

I couldn’t have said it better! Thank you so much for putting my feelings into words. I am proud to be a part of the FR community, prouder still to be an American (and conservative), and proudest of all to be a servant of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for your efforts!

Sean

Right there with you. He was a terrific senator; made me proud to be a Virginian. Have met him a number of times. He is a good man and would make a fantastic president. I hear he’s thinking of running for governor again, so thankfully we haven’t seen the last of him.

There is a different kind of glee that comes from watching those you've fought with get what's coming to them.

That's what's here. I feel sadness because I am naive and think everybody is who they say they are, and therefore that those banned (who did ask for it) were conservatives of a type who were misguided, and lost their way, and I wanted to save them, to return them to the fold by the force of logic and the weight of truth. Instead, they are gone, and lost, and now considered "the enemy".

And while for some not so naive, they have been "the enemy" for so long that they are happy to have been rid of those shooting them in the back, for me it seems sad, like (to use a fictional example) Jack Bauer had to shoot and kill Curtis to stop him from killing the terrorist who was going to help. Jack had to do it, Curtis was working against stopping a nuclear attack, but Jack had no joy in it, because Curtis had been an ally.

Duncan Hunter is the clear choice!!!

I rarely see much support for him as it seems Thompson is being made the rockstar, Hunter is Pro-life and represents Conservative values.

“But it’s evidence that’s as good as you’re going to get.”

I understand your point. However, you made a pretty declarative statement that people in American are for federally funded abortion, open borders, sanctuary cities, and forcing special gay rights and the agenda on us and our children. I’ve always assumed these things not to be the case after years of following politics and the polling that comes with it. Now your admitting you didn’t have the data to support your claims. You do give some anecdotal examples, some I agree with and some I don’t.

I’d like to focus on something constructive where we do have agreement. You’re comment, “the news is not good (for conservatives). I very much agree with that statment. The liberals control the decisive socialization nodes in most of America. They control the mainstream media, the K-12 education system, and they control academia. Until the conservative movemtn let’s go of its “go to private school mantra” and attempt to influence all of these nodes, we will lose. Conservatism needs a bold long term plan of action to get conservatives and their children interested into going into the media, and education.
