Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

You're right. FR has returned foursquare to its conservative ideals. Liberals no longer have free run of the place. The fact that you are sad, is telling.

I don't play the tattle tale game of crying to the mods ..

I'm all for leaving a post up and let others come to their own conclusions .. with the except of those who make clear and outright threats to harm others .. then those post should go

Since you said "Behave yourself, or you’ll be dog gone..." ... I'm just wondering when you decided who stay and who goes

Actually, the WTC was owned by the NY Port Authority and leased to a private group and that lease was entered into until early in 2001. The Port Authority police still had jurisdiction. City officials have ALWAYS had a role in emergency planning for major sites both public and private.

Nice try, but Rudy’s still on the hook for dropping the ball.

I don’t mind if I get in trouble, I have to stand up for my beliefs, which I consider to be conservative, but not necessarily congruent with all defintions of conservatism. I’ll note that social conservatism is not necessarily allied with individual freedom and limited government, which are the conservative beliefs that I hold dear.

As for the religious side of things, in a free country, folk ought to be free to practice or not the religion of their choice. A free country will require adherence to a code of conduct which may or may not coincide with a given religious code.

I’ll be happy for FR to prominently post the fact that it is a social conservative site, along with a description of social conservatism.

Movie theaters and FR do not exist without "other peoples money"......

That thing that just went screeching by, overhead? That thing zooming so rapidly, so far above you, that it actually left a visible contrail...?

We call that "The Point."

What liberals? Most of the people that got banned aren’t liberal.

I consider to be conservative, but...

Seems to me that "conservate, buts" have been a big part of the problem around here, and in our politics. But, that 's just me...

Just because I would love to know the answer .. in case I'm ever stuck in a building that needs to be evacuated

How would you handle evacuating a building that can hold up to 50,000 people with only a few exits ??

Is that a threat? Dog Gone has been a committed conservative and FReeper in good standing for longer than I have been here.

Come now, NautiNurse, no need to become agitated, I find that RockRR's comments to Dog Gone were quite genteel and no threat was made.

Why not try the decaf Nauti?

My sadness is due to the fact that dissent has been silenced here, nothing more.

Right now you say it's because of Rudy supporters, but what'll it be next week - Freepers who wear black socks before Labor day?

My FreeRepublic has been usurped by a pack of hyenas who are feeding off the carcasses of good thoughtful posters that I have come to know through my many years here.

Yes, FreeRepublic is no longer free - and that breaks my heart.

Most of the people that got banned aren’t liberal.

Then why did they support taxpayer-funded abortion, homosexual marriage, euthanasia, gun-grabbing and unprotected borders?

What COULD he do? The buildings were privately owned.

The Port Authority of New York had a lot to do with the Twin Towers. Not sure of the details. Still, if a building was bombed before by a foreign terrorist group, it should of become a public safety issue anyway?

The incivility began when it was made plain here that you can’t support a particular candidate.
***No, the incivility began a few months ago when a bunch of activists for a socially liberal candidat started agitating on this socially conservative forum. Go back over the rudy threads from a few weeks ago and you’ll see it that they were denigrating socons and other conservatives like Reagan to bolster their candidate. Now they have their own forum and they can be as mean as they want to eachother & support whatever liberal scheme strikes their fancy.

The Point...."mr I insult people for no reason", is that until you pony up $80,000 a quarter, this is a forum supported by members.......and just like a bad movie theater, it will go out of business if the customers are not happy...... How's my punctuation?

I don’t know. But if it had just been bombed and I took over as mayor I would certainly start looking for a plan.
