Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

You do realize that MadIvan is British and lives in the UK, don’t you?

I doubt he misses the monarchy that much; the Queen has been here in the States for only a few days.

Nope, the intellectuals are still here.

The hell they are.

The forum is a lesser place since these people were shown the door. To not admit that means you haven't been Freeping very much.

The forum is a BIG Yawn lately.

BIG mistake, IMO.

The thought that the members of that little group went off into the brave world to start their own mutual admiration society and come over here to insult Jim Robinson to force him to ban them gives lie to the idea they were "intellectuals."

Whether or not that diminishes Free Republic is in the mind of the beholder.

Oh come....you cannot dismiss nine years of Freeping over a disagreement on who you're opining has a REAL opportunity to keep the Democratic machine out of the White House.

The forum is NOT all about the 2008 election. Hell...it isn't even all about politics a lot of the time.

It is a mystery to me why they couldn't simply stay away from the volatile thread topics on Rudy.

I was on the Rudy ping list early on...but the daily bombardment was too much.

I mean come on...PEACH? ONYX? They never hurt a fly.

IMO, ego was the culprit. On both sides.

And furthermore....talk about a 'mutual admiration society'?

This thread reeked of it. A bunch of gang-banger vultures.

>> A bunch of gang-banger vultures.

They're gone now. All they had to do to remain welcome was to support the Free Republic mission statement and follow the simple rules.

I read the thread and it was not a disagreement, it was personal insults.

I have been banned for 24 hours several times for much, MUCH less over the years.

They wanted to get banned. They all went over to their little fort and said, "Hold my kool-aid" and came over here to insult Jim and others (including Ronald Reagan).

The fact that they were here for 9 years or 9 minutes is of NO CONSEQUENCE!!

It is like hearing a defendant say, "But judge, I was married to her for NINE YEARS before I killed her, you can't send me to jail."

“Go back through this monster thread and witness the insane behavior of the dearly departed MThatcher last night when she was equating an animated gif file of an Office Depot technican pounding on a malfunctioning printer with ‘threatening a candidate’ and demanded JimRob to remove it from the thread or she would call the FBI and her ‘powerful media friends’, she Freepmailed her opus to JR, and then flew the coop with a cackling ‘I’ll get you yet my pretty!’.”

I am not to good at going back and finding a particular post, but I think at some point mthatcher demanded an apology from JR and even had the gall to specify the form that said apology should take.

Still wishing JC Watts would get back in the game in some capacity.

Holy smokes, the Bug Zapper still switched on?

As for the demented MThatcher and her phony baloney threats about calling the FBI, the media, the U.N., the Illuminati, the Stonecutters Union, and all that noise, I’m still here waiting for the Feds to show up, it’s an immense disappointment.

As for JC Watts? He’s a good man and I miss his presence.

Personal cat fights

Free Republic was never intended as a place for people to bash each other. It’s for conservatives to expose fraud and corruption in the government, etc, and to discuss ideas of how to defeat liberalism. Those of you who have some other agenda might have better luck elsewhere.

We do allow enough space for some amount of personal fun and goofing around, etc, but I will draw the line eventually when people start getting hurt. If you want to engage in flamewars and personal bashing, please do it somewhere else.

Thanks,

Jim

My comment needs no elaboration, does it? There is nothing difficult about minding one's manners and discussing ideas rather than personalities. Bad behavior can only detract from the well-being and success of Free Republic.

Hey, I’m still here and I had my say directly to Jim Rob. When I had my say I had no idea that this was the night/day/week of the hatchet and blood was running deep in the hallowed halls of Freeperland.

Recently posts of mine were deleted because I posted pictures that were posted by ex-Freepers who debated against the mass psychosis of Flt800 conspiracy hysteria.

What do I care tha the picture that I posted was considered abuse or offensive (while the original remains), what do I care that some people you just can’t reach? How many people got banned because of Flt800 threads? How many casualties have there been because of the Evo-Creation debates? How many losses has there been because of the fallout post-1106?

FreeRepublic will ALWAYS be FreeRepublic as long as the people that frequent the forums are as hot blooded about their conservative ideals, principles and visions as they have been since the day I joined.

I can’t even begin to count how many imbroglos that I witnessed on this board. And quite frankly, this board is no different than any other board that I’ve been a member of that has lively and hot discussion. It just so happens that those other forums pertain to nonconsequential issues that are only relevant to gaming.

You haven’t seen blood splatter until you’ve witnessed a flame war of two groups of PC game modders going at each other.

I don’t konw guys, in what loins was the seminal fluid of this country’s conception found? Yes, that’s right: IN BARS. This country is founded upon their ancestors getting together and discussing politics IN BARS!

Makes me wonder how far we’ve fallen.

That being said and notwithstanding, I find it wholly reprehensible that you can equivilate the murder of a spouse to whom one had been married to for 9 years and being a poster on FreeRepublic.

I’m just wondering if that’s akin to equivolating that those 9 year FreeRepublic veterans got raped somehow.

If anybody truly holds to those sentiments then they don’t really understand what murder means, nor can they empathize in the least with a rape victim.

You people who do not understand satire as a means of illustrating a ridiculous point are really tiresome.

If you cannot grasp it was a asinine comment to highlight an asinine assertion than there is nothing I can do to enlighten you.
